Yeh best looking Tacoma yet. But it's all subjective.

Dang! Didn’t finish watching the video, had to get back work.

My lowly SR is specced better, used my heated mirrors, adaptive cruise and auto hvac on the commute this morning. No power rear slider, can reach in my access cab though. Power would be nice tho’

lol! Can’t stand the grill, side/rear profiles are good. If I am going to nit pick, Toyotas should have amber rear turn signals. weird that I have to buy a Ford to get amber turns. Am a bit old skool though. Best looking Toyotas were the ‘79-83s. Kinda wish they would do the retro thing like the Bronco. But Toyota is horrible at retro, FJ Cruiser is case in point. That thing was an abomination. They had a great opportunity to go up against the Wrangler and blew it. Hell they could have done a parts bin vehicle, 80 series chassis, modern drive train and an updated 40 series body. Or shoooot just give us the 70 series.

    @Bedawson:

Edit: Ford did great with the Bronco styling, still needs a little help, the squarish fenders from advanced fiberglass are much better than the stock round flares. Adds to the retro-vibe of it.

steve got me on that, specs aren’t out yet.

Given the choice, would pick that as a second vehicle over a 4Runner or Sequoia. The mpg and cargo storage alone wins.

I've got a DC, so if no power slider, don't even bother with a non powered one IMO. I use mine every time I drive. Drop down rear window is my favorite feature on a Tundra by far, wish we got it as an option on the Tacoma.

I'm right there with you. I got my 2016 SR5 4x4 for 30 and change. Bought my 2021 SR 4x4 4cyl for 30 and change. Seriously doubting I'll be able to pull that off ever again. I don't think average wages are keeping up with transportation costs. Even a damn Nissan Altima/Rogue will run you in the 30s these days.

My 2022 utility package 4x4 was $28,000 without the crushing California taxes. Only mod I’ve made is putting on a snugtop rebel.

My wife told me that we would have to be smoking crack to pay $55,000 for a pick up.

If they use the same engines in the GH the cheapest engine is the 2.4 twin turbo with a 6 speed auto maybe an 8, who knows. I'm thinking the 2.5 hybrid (no turbo) will be SR5 and up models but no CVT. A CVT in a Tacoma would be a disaster.

I read on the news the other day that 17% of new vehicles financed in the US have a payment over $1000 and the average new vehicle is 48k. Scandalous.

Twin? Next Taco has a CVT, I'm walking. I'd kill for a DSG though.

I refuse to "like" this post even though I read it too.

This is beyond crazy and completely unsustainable.

Yeah, 50-60K, might as well buy a full-size for that. Can get a base Tundra under 50K. More power, same crappy mpgs and bigger bed. The SRs are a bit detuned, wonder if you can get them tuned at the dealer like what GM is doing?

Do like the Tundra, everything but that redneck horseshoe mustache of a grill. Could do a Sequoia front clip swap. Still hideous, but not as bad. A bud of mine and I have this saying, “that isn’t too terrible…” (still terrible though :) )

Cars are getting more tech heavy. Manufacturers are cranking up MSRP. Dealers are adding on ADM. Something has got to break eventually.

I don’t think people overpaying for new and used cars during the pandemic out of sheer desperation mixed in with stupidity is going to be a reflection of the car market going forward.

    I'd prefer a 6-speed over an 8-speed. I'll take it.

The eight speed in the 200 Land Cruiser has been just fine, except for the first year when it launched.

ZF also makes an excellent 8 speed unit.

Was looking at SR5 DCSB’s today and the 2wd were $38-39k, and 4x4’s were $42+k. (Not including $2k more in dealer options like tint, mats, plus an admin fee)

I shudder to think what the new 4gen hotness will bring.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but in 288 pages of sheer bliss, I didn't see it.... so,

My wife has a Ford Exploder with a 2.3l EcoBoost I-4 w/ 300hp and 310 lbft of tq. weighing in at around 4400lbs (curb). It gets around pretty decent for a land yacht with a 4 banger.

Shouldn't we expect those kind of numbers in the Gen 4 Tacoma powerplant? Shouldn't I be disappointed if Toyota doesn't at least match the output of a Ford. And before anyone says it, no I'm not buying a Ranger. I just think that 300/300 is a reasonable expectation, that's all... am I nuts?
