    Has anyone removed this piece?

It is the silver piece that surrounds the vents on either side of the radio and spans from one side to the other. Anyone have any tips before I start yanking at stuff.

    Thanks.

    A few bolts are different.
start with the two tabs on top that hook into the black dash part behind the silver piece, there are probably two on the bottom also. then get the 4 clips unhooked in the large opening.

Wow. Is that it? I assume the other 4 clips in the large opening are the 2 on either side (right and left) that are on the vertical part of the opening.

Thanks. Will the 4x4 switch come out with the panel so I can take it off once the entire panel is out? It looks like I will just have to unhook the wires and pop it out once I have it out to put on the new one.

Not sure about the 4x4. If you get those two large looking clips to unhook it should give you some extra play to see the others and exactly where to go next to get it to pop loose.

that piece is held in by the gauge bezel.

you have to take the black plastic piece from around the gauges off. you can see the little slot on the left side that is locks in to.

its just held in by clips at that point.

    Thanks for the help.

So what I am taking from this.

    Remove radio
    Remove gauge cover.

    Work snaps clips out.

Is the gauge bezel cover just the 2 screws then pop it out?

you will have to drop the bottom of the dash down ( below the steering wheel) and then the two clips above the gauges, and then it pops out
