What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Getting some bumper strength added

 

Anybody have an issue with loud creaks coming from somewhere around the u bolts on the rear axle? I have a flip kit and I thought maybe there was some play in them so I tightened everything up but that didn’t make a difference. I can stand on my sliders then grab them and lift to replicate the sound and I notice a slight vibration when the creak/clicks make noise. I know there’s normal groans from the suspension but this wasn’t coming from the leafs or the shocks. Freaking gremlins

 

I feel you. I have this metal pop sort of like something is in a bind on the the front. It happens randomly so it's hard to duplicate. I wish I had a go pro or something that I could just mount down there.

 

I don't think you're aloud to talk like that on here. If it's not too late I'd start poking around on the frame and get it inspected. It's probably rusting from the inside out.

 

Check your LCAs especially stock, if they have lossen up at all they may create that loud creak or pop sound.

 

Started putting this shit back together.

Bumper should be here tomorrow, at the mercy of UPS.

 

My truck sounds like a pop corn machine at the movie theater. I've stopped even trying to figure out where everything is coming from. Stressed me out

 

Replaced the battery in my ‘08 Tacoma which had a 5 year warranty which expired 2 months ago. I did some research and found the same brand at Walmart so I went there. I figured if it lasted over 5 years I would get the same one. Even though it only has a 3 year warranty now, I figured I couldn’t go wrong for $119.99.

 

From the reviews I've seen those Walmart batteries punch way above their price point.

 

Yeah I have the same sounds, but mine are coming from my Dakars. Can’t really do anything about it unless I disassemble them and grease between leafs.

I used some sprayable lithium grease. Sprayed it between the leafs and.....silence.

 

Oh shoot for real? I’m going to pick some up ASAP.

 

I agree, I've had better luck w/ Walmart batteries than any other. Plus usually no hassle if have to do a return.

 

What did you use to paint with?

 

Just found out that I have to replace my steering rack. You guys have any recommendations or suggestions? Is it a job that can be done with average tools? Thanks for any help!

 

This is it and some silicone wd40 spray to bushings. Insulation of the parking brake squeaks over time of riding over metal. Cheers!

 

Whats going on with yours?

 

Leaking at the inner tie rod and wandering a lot. It’s failed state inspection because of the leak.
