I think the base motor will be around that on torque, but lower on HP. I'm just speaking my truth though.

300 torque at 2400 rpm is a world of difference compared to 280 torque at 6000.

I wonder if the news was making that up. $1000 a month is roughly $60K at 60 months. Most people would put a down payment down or a trade. Say $10K so it’s a $70K vehicle. Bump the loan up to 72 months which many do and it’s an $82K vehicle. Crazy!

I'd bet that a fair amount of these super high loans have a bunch of negative equity rolled in.

From 2020, but it can't have gotten any better since then.
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rel...unds data shows that in,33% in April of 2019.

That's Tacoma numbers across the board, including a Kia sedan. Hey, credit where it's due, I was about to post "Imagine paying 25 grand for a new kia sedan", but I just looked them up. A NEW Rio econobox is listed around 18, I imagine you could get to 16.5-17 easy on that. Fair enough.

    72 month note :spy:

Why not the ranger? The bedsides are too tall (both in looks and usability), but a great engine that the mustang guys have thrashed on for years (the only people less gentle on vehicles than truck owners, are mustang owners), the 10 speed spec'd out for the F150 in something 70% of the weight/ratings. I test drove one, if I was buying with my brain then, I'd be in a Frontier, but second, a ridgeline, but third, a ranger.

The downside (to ANY turbo) is that it's far less forgiving about maintenance schedules. My NA V6 can go a bit long on an oil change, a turbo can't (for longevity) - Ford, or Toyota.

Heck, the Honda 1.5 turbo (I have a toyota and love it, but if you asked me who makes better engines, Honda or Toyota....It's Honda) was having a ton of issues too.

    https://www.motorverso.com/honda-1-5-turbo-engine-problems/

    https://vehiclefreak.com/did-honda-fix-the-turbo-engine-problems-of-2020-and-2021/

My buddy had one of these that he had to bring back and get an NA engine instead.

300/300 isn't nuts. I hate to see how BIG these small trucks are becoming, I'd much prefer to see an NA 4 banger put out 150s and be the size of the maverick than see 300s and it be the size of a 10 year old full size. But, for the market it's in, 300/300. The current 3.5L is pretty close 280/260 or something I think.

Bingo. It’ll be even worse for folks that bought high over the past few years and try to move into a newer vehicle.

I've seen many Prius with 150k on stock battery packs. Unusual but not uncommon.

The will bring the payment average down, 10 year Auto loans will start to be the norm going forward so people can feel like they are getting a good payment.

Good points, and I hadn't even thought of the Nissan. My first truck was a 1994 hardbody sev6 5spd king cab. It was the envy of my peers. The good news is I don't have to worry about it for a long time, my yota just turned 40k.

All Canyons come with 2” lift standard and it won’t be a base truck. A no optioned AT4 starts at $45,395 with D&D.
Edit: where I was going with that was forget the shitty Trail Boss and spend $4,000 more and get a bunch of stuff standard. If you’re cool driving an automatic around.
