Having some issues here. Trying to make room to remove the bolt. I know ill need to bend the fender a bit, but this black box seems like it'll be in the way as well. Has anyone had to remove it, or will i be able to shimmy past the fender?

10 mm wrench take this bolt out and you’ll be able to scoot the black box out of the way enough to be able to slide the bolt through. Undo a couple of the clips that secure the abs wire harness that the head of the UCA bolt will need to slide by

Awesome. Eventually got it out and the new UCA in. Even got the bolt in from the top! Does this look good as far as washer placement, etc?

ooofff. I just cut my UCA bolts out and ordered new ones. They were like $9ea from the dealer

Was way easier than getting it out. Just removed that black box I showed in last post, removed battery tray, then tapped in the new bolt with a hammer and chisel. The bumps I circled were the only thing catching the bolt.

Yes, those Icon delta joint UCA’s get a washer on both sides of the bushing. You did a good job. Nice work

For future googlers; Bending alone helped a little, but wasnt all I had to do. Get a 5lb hammer, a chisle/tap, a beer, and take your time. Seriously TAKE YOUR TIME. Its a PITA, but it will eventually come out. Bend, tap hard, watchout for AC lines and wire harnesses. (Tip: on the passenger side, have another person hold the AC line out of the way while you hit it out) If bending alone isnt working, just clear it with hammer/tap. Force it past the metal box thats blocking it. Afterwards, go back over the places inside the engine compartment that your scratched up with some rustoleum (you will scratch it up).

Reinstalling from the top is recommended for safety. Some people say dont worry and just reinstall from the bottom, but I say if you can do it the "right" way, why not? We reinstalled them from the top the same way, hammer and chisel/tap. Just work it in and have patience.
