Discount for tires. I use Firestone for alignments. Nick in Covington Firestone is a competent tech and does a good job.

You know, I'd do some of it myself but the initial prep is the real kick in the ass part.

    20230207_125156.jpg

What would've been between $2,900 to $3,300 (2 different quotes) I found a concrete guy to do it for only $1,800.

Reason for being cheaper? He owns his own bulldozer and other large heavy equipment. He's the guy who's concrete truck I fixed and welded up.

His bulldozer immediately got rid of all the mulch and excess dirt and other junk to get the ground level for concrete.

Alright two questions, why is the concrete shape so weird and why does the fence have baseboards?

There's this utility thing just front of that curve, so it was done intentionally to follow the lines leading up to the fence (looks better in person). You'll see the shadow.

The baseboards are stupid. I want to paint up the whole thing but that's a problem for future Nelson :burp:

The "baseboard" is a kick board/rotboard. Helps the bottom of the pickets not rot out and cleans up the look. Then if the kick board rots, you can just replace that versus new vertical boards. See em a lot over here.
Unless his is something weirder, and its not on the outside of the bottom of the fence...

Well I bit the bullet and signed up for some Cooper 235/75r15 from les schawb. They're only charging about 20 more per tire but buying from them with a tire warranty and free install (since I'm paying for an alignment as well) makes that mark up worth it for me.

    Thanks for the help guys

Luckily you don't have tons of rain, so you might never even need to mess with 'em.

I thought it was an aesthetic thing hence why I thought they were dumb. But serving an actual purpose makes way more sense.

Yeah I thought the exact same thing when I'd see them, that people just wanted the look or maybe it was to somehow make it hard for dogs to mess up the bottoms of fences.
