    3. Corinth Recreational Area (Cullman)
    4. Desoto State Park (Mentone)

    2. Tim's Ford Fairview State Park (Winchester)
    3. Fall Creek Falls

    GA RV camping:
    1. Cloudland Canyon State Park (Trenton)

    AL primitive camping:

    TN primitive camping:

Wife and I purchased a travel trailer last year and we began slowing venturing out.

We started at Guntersville State Park last year since it's so close to us. Here's a few pics from our first trip before I got the new Taco.

Last weekend, we made the 90 mile trip up to Tim's Ford State Park. Many sights are small and I'm not sure there's any sewage hook ups but for only two nights its not a problem. They have a dump station on the way out. There's some great bike/walking trails. I did some off road bike trails that kicked my butt and it was great.

Whenever we are up that way, eating at One22West in Tullahoma is a must. :hungry:

These pics are from late March 2023:

 Thats awesome, glad I could be of inspiration. Maybe it will take off and we will have a compiled list of great campgrounds in the southeast.

How does your truck handle that camper?

    Maybe it will. :)

Short answer: the 2023 Taco does pretty well. The camper is pretty light with a dry weight of 3400lbs. Our loaded weight when we went over the scale last weekend is 4020 lbs on the rear axle when hooked up and using a HDH. Here's a thread I started with more details if your interested.

We got an amazing deal buying in August last year(bought a new 2021 model). We drove 2 hrs to Opelika to get it but saved $8k over what the local place had listed. August seems to be when the new models come out.

We went to Cloudland Canyon several years ago for the day and really enjoyed it..... now we gotta check it out through the eyes of campers.

    Haven't heard of Stone Door.

    Thanks for suggestions.

Is there a camp ground there? We will do some mild boondocking but our camper isn't really the off road type.

Also Stone Door looks amazing. Is there a camp ground in that area that you know of?

And the Stone Door is in South Cumberland Park. I don’t think they have RV stuff there.

Those both look super nice. We like our queen size bed with memory foam topper so primitive camping isn't something we will likely get into anymore. LOL. I did have some amazing camping experiences when I was younger. I do realize we our limiting our adventures and there are time I wish we would have bought a camper that could handle some mild off-roading. But we are enjoying what we have. :)

We’re gonna backpack primitive camp until we can’t anymore. Some of the most beautiful places to see can only be reached by foot. When we can’t backpack camp anymore, we’ll get a camper! Lol

You gonna have to join us sometime Jeff. The last year or so has been crazy and we don’t ride or camp like we used to, but that’s gonna change this year!
