I sold the tailgate today and bought King hydro bump stops with the total chaos mounting kit! I love when a plan comes together. 20230415_154955.jpg

Body ECU is all hooked up. The dash clears. I lost the cover on the bottom of the ECU that shows which fuse is designated for what. Additionally I welded on the bracket that holds the OBD2 plug right next to the ECU. Parking brake clears everything.

Going to route the body harnesses like this. This one is almost long enough. I might just need to extend trailer wires and brake lights.

How did you get a (left) foot pedal parking break in a 2nd Gen Tacoma?

I was really worried that I screwed something up when welding in the alignment tabs off of the GX onto the Tacoma because the wheels were toed in. I wanted to use the gx LCAs and power steering rack because those parts on the tacoma are ultra shot at 300k miles. Turns out I just needed to adjust the tie rod and there is plenty of thread left behind it. The sharpie line in the 2nd picture represents roughly where the wheels looked straight by eye. There is atleast another .750 inch of theres behind it and look how far the toe can be cranked out. The only thing is that the gx/4unner uses bigger bolts to mount the LCAs so I don't recommend using them unless you want to enlage the slots with a carbide tool. Of course I will be taking it to an alignment shop once it is finished. Pushing it into the garage with the wheels toed in was a WORKOUT lol.

Those are the bushings if you want to swap them out for ones with the correct size bolts for the Tacoma's frame.

I appreciate the info, I've done that job before and have no interest in ever doing it again. I would rather buy low mileage used LCAs from a junk yard anyday. I am just glad I will be able to line these up.

Thanks- I've only owned a Manual transmission and didn't realize that about the auto transmissions....

Finally it stopped raining! I put the wires to the side today and got to work on the axle. I cut the shock mounts off, sanded the welds smooth, stripped the loose paint off and sprayed it with epoxy paint. Waiting on the TCS bump stop kit to show up and the axle is getting mounted as soon as that comes in. 20230422_192132.jpg 20230422_201656.jpg IMG_20230422_215315_995.jpg

The total chaos shock hoop kit supplies new shock mounts since both shocks will now be forward of the axle.

Are you doing this all by yourself, or do you have a hand moving/ lifting things into place?

I must say this is very impressive work .

All by myself, I do have a 30 hp Yanmar Tractor which I dragged the damaged lexus onto the driveway with but thats pretty much it. I used a cherry picker to pull out the engine with ofcourse.
