Lunar Rock Gen III Thread

I personally feel this color very much aligns with oxidized copper. Maybe that is why I would eventually like to accent my truck with copper in the places where it is normally chrome!
Has anybody already figured out a good way to do this? I have found copper plasti-dip and vinyl but it looks like anything pre-cut or pre-made doesn't come in a copper or bronze such as the overlays and stock wheel black-out vinyls...

Going to get matching 35 % tint for the front windows today. Everyone like theirs? Any windshield tint people out there?

Scratch that, here's the update. Loving the match thus far, just dark enough to create some privacy and reduce the heat in warmer months. Did 35% on the sides, didn't touch the windshield.

 

I went with 18% on the sides and 50% on the windshield. Love it!
I may lay something over the back window soon too so it's a little darker

 

Added the TufSkinz letter inserts today. The V6 emblem needs to go.

 

I just did this setup on my AC OR and I think it came out looking good.

 

Your set up does look really good. I was curious what the graphite wheels would like like with LR. I’m still considering which wheels/color I want to go with. I think graphite just made the list on contenders.

 

I need better pictures to how the wheels and paint color better, I'll see if I can some in the next day or so.

 

Are those black Tacoma door emblems or overlays?

 

Those are the door emblems that came with the truck, but I think they are coming off today actually...

 

I didn’t know they were available in black.

At a minimum, all chrome is coming off mine.

 

You can get them from Toyota parts for a crazy price. You can get overlays for $20 on Amazon that seem decent. I’ve had mine on for a few months and no issues.

 

Hey everyone, just wanted to post my truck. I traded in my 22 Tacoma SR (silver 4 cyl 2 wd) for my new 23 Tacoma TRD-Off Road -- Lunar Rock of course and loaded. Loved the 22 but it seems I got bitten by some kind of bug that said, why not go camping in it. The dealer knew what I was looking for, contacted me and said there was a couple allotted to the dealership and I reserved one. Actually came in a week earlier than expected. Been getting rid of the chrome with black overlays and such. Next on the list will be a Smartcap and iKamper followed by some armor (thinking CBI) , tires and suspension. Then the stuff to make the camping more civilized (fridge, battery, lights, etc).
The long range goal will be a trip to Prudhoe Bay Alaska...from Georgia...camping along the way. Its a few years down the road though. Until then, there are places closer to home to visit.

 

Don’t forget to swap your tails to get rid of the chrome in those too!

Anyone do black door handles and mirrors? Thinking about some plastidip work here...

 

The tail lights are on my list.

there are several sites that sell covers that go over the inside door handles. They sell them in black and can also get them in the color of your truck.
