Generally I agree with this statement, not in this case. Some flavors are bad and the immune system can get overloaded.

 

I know I have and I’m pretty sure @Gritto has been shoulder deep in an old cow while pulling out a calf. We never lost an arm to the germs…..

 

Pretty sure that @Hobbs would’ve lost his #### if germs were that bad.

Well, my Dad did but I helped pull once he got the calf turned around and put a loop on it... or got hold of a foreleg.
Calving is no joke and sometimes the old gal needs help.

Cows get sick about as often as people do (or used to before factory farming and preventive use of antibiotics).
All we had back then was Sulfa.
I bet few on this thread have seen (or smelled) green milk*

*hint: because Mastitis

Anyway... Farms are very dirty places
