Odd issue that I’m not able to offer any assistance towards but what I can offer is that I deleted all of the SAIS stuff off my 2013 with HPTuners and haven’t had any issues since. Def recommend looking into it if you want to be done with it

Temperature affects electrical connections so it could still be a connection issue somewhere, the trick is gona be getting it to act up consistently and finding it.

I've dealt with alot of intermittent problems and they can be a real pain to track down, a scope is definitely your friend to catch intermittents.

Thank you,!! I tried the Hewitt bay pass complete delete kit and I was still having the same issue. they where super nice and
worked with me along the troubleshooting and send me 3 replacement kits and nothing changed.
the reason I’m now here troubleshooting myself what I can before dealership.
It can be either Brocken/damaged wire, connector or ECM. So far I see all of the wiring pretty healthy.

I won’t be that hard to re-creat the issue, since it happens in every early morning.
I’m sure if I decided to bring it to the dealership tomorrow morning it will have the lights and limp mode active.

If someone there knows how to use a scope and think outside the box they should be able to find it very quickly, if not well hopefully they don't just load up the parts cannon...

Dm93 Can a ECM from another Tacoma be straight swapped? Or needs to be programmed?
I can get a used matching ecu from literally anywhere.

It has to be the same part number which essentially means same year, engine, transmission, and drive.

The only thing that has to be reset is the immobilizer but that is easilly done with a jumper wire and 30 min wait.

The VIN ideally should be changed in the new/donor PCM to match the VIN of the truck but this isn't required for it to function properly.

Is blue/white wire from AID ends on the engine fuse white 12 pin connector?
I did a continuity check from each connector end and it seems like is one same wire with ignition off, BUT with ignition on I get 12v on the AID connector side blue/wire wire, but nothing on the fuse box connector side, continuity remains with ignition on.

Great, that means yes,? so I can just plug in the new/used ecm and do the paper clip trick for the Immobilizer And it should work? With out necessary software/firmware exchange? i don’t care about vin numbers not matching.

The wire from the AID is going to be Pin 13 of connector 2A which is on the underside of the fuse box and not fun at all to get to, if power is good at Pin 5 of the AID it has to be good at 2A Pin 13 as it comes from there.

As long as it's the same part number it's plug and play, just requires an immobilizer reset.

Prerunner is the same as a 2wd, part number on the PCM is what you have to go by.
