    Any of you guys running the TRD oil filters in your truck? I bought this from my local dealership thinking of using it .

    i would never put any filter in mine that is not the factory part # and only buy from dealer.
    so many threads here on the oil filters where it was slightly different (internet buy) and all kinds of issues can happen.

    200k miles and going on regular stock filters. The real world difference in the TRD filter wont keep anyone’s truck lasting longer vs stock Toyota but it sure looks fancy.

    Will the TRD filter make the truck last longer - perhaps not, I have spent more money on less sensible things however... :notsure:

    The TRD box looks distinctive on my parts shelf too. :laugh:

    I ran one once, then swapped it out for a standard filter on the next oil change.

    It's an oil filter.

    The TRD uses a synthetic media versus cellulose for the regular OEM filter. Yes, it’s an oil filter but synthetic filters better than cellulose. I.e. filters down to 20 microns vs 30.

    I believe better filtration is more important than the oil you use or how frequently you change it.

    I guess by using a trd filter, you're better off if the truck sees a lot of dusty road conditions, vs the standard filter. Does everyone need one? no.
