Has anyone been experiencing shipping costs that are 3 to 4 times what they should be for small truck parts???

I don't understand what's going on here. I have been needing to order new U bolts and 3 degree axle shims but every site I've tried to order from shipping cost more than the product I'm trying to order.

Check out the screenshot from Wheeler's. It's the same on All Pro's website and Toytec.Screenshot 2023-04-23 at 5.02.52 PM.jpg

Call and ask. There shipping calculator has always been fucked up imo even before they were bought out, never bothered to fix it.

edit: or don’t waste your time and source elsewhere from a competent web interface

That's the plan tomorrow. I already sent a message to Toytec but it's the weekend so hopefully I'll hear from them tomorrow...I don't think I've had this issue before with the shipping calculator, it's hard to believe it's like that on all three sites tho.

    That wouldn't explain this.

For USPS Priority to cost $40, it's either a massive box or extremely heavy, which makes me think this retailer is either charging high for the sake of it, or has the item size/weight wrong in their inventory system.
Because the UPS rate is very similar, I'm inclined to think their shipping box size is just massive and their system does not account for small parts orders.

If those 4 u-bolts have a combined weight of less than 16oz, they could ship them as trackable first class parcel for probably $8.

For something like U-bolts, I’d head down to the local auto parts store and if they don’t have them in stock, they can get them for you and you don’t pay any shipping.

I think a lot of people have got so used to ordering stuff online, including me, that purchasing locally doesn’t even cross minds sometimes.

Update: Called Toytec, Ordered 4 u bolts with hardware and x2 3 degree axle shims with center pin for only 10 dollars shipping thru USPS...

They said their system automatically pulls freight shipping costs.

Yeah, I know right now if I go to my local AutoZone and they say it's not here, the distribution hub a few miles down the road often has them. But for Truck stuff I can think of several places close to my home that specialize in truck lifts and would have them likely on the shelf.
