I want the colder weather back :angrygirl:

Hearing that this summer is going to be a wetter/humid hot one, not sure how I feel about that. Mosquitoes are gonna be nuts

Probably should have done the outer tie rods, looked like they might be original. LBJs looked oem and probably not original since the boots were still in decent shape.... But nice to have them done for the peace of mind

It’s insane how expensive the ORM outer tie rods are. I ended up getting some from NAPA.

Here's some two tone high style. I got rid of the troubled and rusty tailgate. The door lock mechanism was messed up also. It goes to the body shop as soon as school is out. My buddy is the auto body program instructor. At least it works.

Really? Last time I got OEM outers they were like $50 each, maybe 3 years ago?

Inners are stupid expensive and almost makes more sense to just get a whole new rack with them included

It's crazy how much manufacturing difference there is between aftermarket inners too. Some don't articulate anywhere near as far as others.

I must’ve been thinking of the inners. Even on McGeorge they were like $250 a piece.

Yeah that's the inners. For $500 you can get a new rack with them already on from Mcgeorge

Getting used to the routine of keeping a black car clean and being distracted with the paint so I end up with water stains on the moonroof. D'oh.
    Nice day for it though.

Went to the mountain thinking we might bust some snow drifts up so we could pull campers out next weekend, there's still 3 feet of snow for 1/4 of a mile.... we will be camping lower this year.

That's just tuition but trust me, they expect donations on top of that.

We have two black cars as daily drivers and the most important thing I can tell you about keeping one clean it to wash it once a month and don't fret over some dirt. You will never win the battle.

Sage advice. I'm getting it, but it looks so good right after a wash session it makes me want to do it more, but also that gets annoying. I was going to get it ceramic coated but going to bag that for now. Getting the plastic cladding bits and bumper trim painted is higher priority.
Today was one of those days where I actually enjoyed every step of the wash, even the wheels. Other times, I hate it.
**And of course its going to rain tomorrow.

Temporary intake is almost there. Have an intercooler core from a Mercedes V12 in the mail though so I can do the real piping.

This was the only successful exhaust stud extraction of the day. I have three that are quickly losing material left from stepping up extractor sizes. I’m using map gas but maybe I need to get an acetylene torch. Should’ve just bought $1200 TRD headers but I’m not rich.

Calling it for the day and I’ll try again next weekend. I don’t work on it during the week. Giving up physical activity to work on the truck was too depressing.

I just can't get over how plain and boring all of the Audi RS cars look. It looks like something you'd send your daughter off to college in. One of my favorite games to play is base model Jetta or RS3...
