For those interested in a 4th axis for their plasma:

If you can build out the proper mounting solution for the tube (lathe chuck or rollers) the x-axis gantry drive motor can be used to drive / turn the tube / pipe either directly or through an auxilary belt / chain / gear and you have a simple and effective 4th axis.

Much appreciated! Better than the wasted material, less-than-optimal coping shapes and hours spent grinding away at jagged hand cut edges.

Exactly. The trick is getting the drive ratio correct (or at least close) and having enough torque to spin the chuck / tube.

Next you’re going to adapt the other axis for z and you’ll have a totally cnc’d tube cutter!

I respect the skill involved in making the logo, but my opinion, is the font is too big or the logo is too small.

Regardless, that is some stellar work!

    Haha thanks man.

Total length is around 21” from back hoof to front of the Ram Horns. It’s about 11” tall and has to fit in a 14” tall space.

When I tried to make the letters smaller I was having a tough time with my 2D profile. When I would create G code it was leaving out a few letters due to constraints so when I made the letters slightly larger it worked fine. Each letter is 1.25” tall

I was thinking that might be the problem. I'm thinking this is why many businesses use initials for their logo.

    Still, great work!

Holy hell, those were completely worn a couple hundred feet ago.

How many cut feet / pierces are you getting out of your consumables?

I dunno if that is a valid question.

We all have different humidity levels where we live.

I can go 2 months in the winter (0 humidity), but in the summer I'm lucky to get 2 weeks on the consumables.

At present, I don't see the validity of purchasing an air dryer.

I got quite a number of pierces, though I haven't reset my Firecontrol to tell you how many.

I've cut 10 motor mounts, each with 4 tabs, all out of 1/4" steel, a ton of shock tabs out of 3/16", and several signs and brackets. I know that's not really answering your question but I'll say the biggest culprit is moisture in my lines.

I need to add a desiccant filter but have been too busy to add one.

    Newborn and all.
