well this will be my daily driver// also off roading once every month or so..more in the summers..
i understand the gas would be an issue lol.. im not too informed on these things.. i did not even think about the weight until mentoined on this forum...

im going with baja boss AT 285/70/17 which is 44 pounds and the wheel is the kmc grs at 37 pounds.. is that extreme?
the shop recommend the Method 703 (which i am not a fan of at all) but it weights about 32 lb

Footwell Lights... aftermarket you can make dim or bright, adjust with courtesy lighting while driving, and you can add them in the rear.

    I chose red haha

I would take your time research this all thoroughly that tire is actually 64lbs which is quite heavy. Your set up will weigh more than my 295's.
Even at 32lbs that's an absurdly heavy wheel or a daily. Check out ssw, black rhino, scs to name a few that have some really good offerings for look and weight.
For that level of use I would honestly upgrade suspension lift the front maybe an inch slap on a 265/70r17 with an agressive AT find a wheel you like in a 0 offset leave the rear leafs stock. It won't have the the whole lifted truck thing going but if it's your daily 285's and a 3" lift comes with alot of compromises to only go wheeling once a month. But that's my opinion as I still think that was the best state my truck was ever in for day to day use.

No you can find them all over. I'd be careful mentioning Tacoma Beast on here though, they got caught defacing some trail heads, so some members will get all agro about it.

Just drive it and pay it off, then replace stuff as it wears out with nicer stuff. (Suspension, tires, etc)

37 lbs is a stupid heavy wheel and a 44 lb 285 must be paper thin to weigh so little. Always go for the strongest, lightest wheel so you can “spend” weight on heavier duty more durable tires. That’s my thinking anyhow.

100% especially with the truck being so new and if your new to the offroad world take it slow do a few light mods learn the truck learn to drive it offroad.
Simply a tire upgrade will go so far in the trucks performance and look. While still maintaining great use day to day.
My opinion a 17x8 or 17x9 light wheel paired with a 265/70r17 all terrain tire will give you the cool truck look and great off road use with virtually no compromise on its daily use

I mean the baja boss at 285/70/17 online said it’s 44. I may be wrong. Someone in here mentioned it’s actually 64

Ya I went off roading for the first time today. Had a blast. Car is very capable stock. However some parts I couldn’t go bc of clearance..

I really want the Fox 2.5 dsc just to get it done already haha. But I completely understand the more adult choice here would be to do what u said.
I wonder if 17 wheels and 265 would fit with no rubbing on stock suspension

They do I ran that set up for a year. You may tap the mud flap on occasion if you bump up the wheel offset but that's all. Stock wheels with that 265/70 no issues.
As for that baja boss tire weight. This is it pulled for the mickey Thompson site at 63lbs

i appreciate your advice man. I am strongly leaning towards that. I Can save some money lol and when I do the lift, I don’t have to change the wheels. I Can just change the tires

Would u recommend like a 1 inch spacer in the front with the 17 wheels? I wonder if it would change ride quality

No problem man. It will also allow you more time to really make sure the mods your after will actually benefit you. Rushing mods leads to alot of regret generally.
Use tiresize.com to check on tire specs it's relatively accurate.
Just for reference here's my 18 with fuel kickers 17x9 +1 and 265/70r17 duratracs in a p load rating. Some days I miss the simplicity of the set up.

I do have a build thread that I note a bunch of my lessons learned and pros and cons of some mods thst may help save you some steps in the future.

If you mean wheel spacers, a 1.25" would get you to a 0 offset if your stock wheels are a +33 like mine were. But if your going to look at new wheels just order them in the right offset and skip the spacers

64 and 37 is 101 lbs! It will drive like a total mutt and your fuel economy will be ruined.

ya I agree. And I was talking about 1 inch lift spacers. To raise the front a tad

    not sure on the wording.

in that picture, is that stock height? Just the wheels and tires? And no rubbing?

Wouldn't waste the money on a spacer lift.
That's stock sport suspension no lift. It would buss the mudflap mount once in awhile while wheeling but that was it. Only at full lock and flexed. The downsides to a spacer lift outweigh the lift you get. I suggest watching tinkerers adventures videos on YouTube. He does an incredible job breaking down what you need to know about toyota IFS when lifting it.
