Anyone else here have a log home? Need some home improvement advice for log structures.

 

my house is made of wood which came from logs?

 

I’d imagine you might be better off asking the new englanders but maybe someone down here lives in the land of the logs.

 

Actually around me is the largest concentration of log homes in the US. But not a log contractor company left to work on them. The one guy I used is out of business.

 

no shit, I do know that out in areas like corbin city I always see a lot of log homes but no newer ones

Yeh, I'm near Medford Lakes and live a few miles away in another log community. All cabins from the 1910's and up. Some older which are historic and not allowed to be lived in. Mine is a 1940 cabin.

 

The moment you said log cabin I knew you had to be in the Medford Lakes area. That place is cool to drive through. I ride not far from there.

 

Yeh when I had my 98 extended cab I learned how to wheel back on the fire trails in Wharton near Atsion Lake. But down off of Stokes Road leads you to all the cabins. Some multi million $$ lakeside log homes.

did you get your endorsement?

 

I got a cert for passing the class that lets me go right to DMV for the endorsement and bypassing the permit process and road test. Took off work tomorrow to add it. I’ll be officially street legal to ride dirt trails

 

sweet! Thankfully jersey doesn’t charge extra for it…yet

 

DMV wanted $5 for standing in the permit line and $18 for endorsement
