What about parts? All i could find is a full front/rear set. No locker needed.

Call ECGS. They have a core program. They ship you a 3rd member, you remove the one on ur truck and send it to them and throw on the one they sent you. Done. Rear is easy to do esp if you’re just pulling the rear diff and popping on a new complete one.

Update. I’m 50 miles from initial break in. The 5.29’s completed by ECGS have been amazing. Totally new truck. Worth every penny.

    Thanks for the quick feedback

I have my mechanic cousin that could do a new complete install then. He did my CMC, pinchweld, UCA, and lift no charge but I'll give some money to take the family out to dinner.

I'm on 285/75/17s with KDmax tune and looking to possibly go 35s.

Rear diff only for a complete assembly installed not bad at all. Anyone charging $1K labor for rear axle is highway robbery.

The guy did it in 3hrs while taking a lunch break and video-ing. Said it can be done 1-2hrs.

$1k for rear axle will be someone pulling the 3rd member, regearing it, and then Reinstalling it. More like a 6 hour job to do all that.

Simply installing a pre installed diff for someone definitely would be highway robbery at $1k. That should be like $200, maybe $300 max. The worst part about that simple install is cleaning off the old gasket and refilling the axle with gear oil when done.

You misunderstand. The $1k in labor is for the regear, not necessarily the installation of the 3rd member. The 3rd member swap is the easy part.

Yep $900-$1k is for re gear…. Anyone can throw a pre made 3rd member in the taco in a couple hours. It’s literally unbolting things and bolting back up things for the most part.

I just put a $300 deposit down for Premiere West Gears in Riverside Ca. Any Socal guys have an opinion on this shop?

I decided to get the REM polish and figured I would have them mount my air compressor while its in the shop, but now I see these ECGS install kits with new sets of bearings and seals... I assume this is being done since everything is being torn apart anyways?

Per the pic on page 5, this thread was from gears done there. Now, that guy went and got the gears first then had them add the locker later. So adding the locker may have been what caused the screw up. But the work was done there.

Maybe @trail.taco can provide input on whether or not he’d go back.

yeah if I had to do it again I would go with an ecgs kit and do it at home or take it to SIBI built. As far as i know premier west wont replace your seals and needle bearings if they dont have to. Theres a reason why they are the cheapest option out there

Welp.... I hope I hear better results from others. That's lame that they deflected despite the warranty and it clearly having to do with their work. Moderately concerned.

I had a good experience there, almost a year later and its all good still. They sell a lifetime no questions asked warranty.

I will definitely look into that, but judging how they respond to their 1 year warranty makes me wonder what it would be like in 5....10 years.
