Most are going to the donor bike. However, the saddle, Fox Transfer (Kashima, 125mm, 31.6) and Fox Remote, ESI grips can be sold if anyone is interested.

Dang. I'll let you know on the dropper once I get the frame, but I have a feeling I'm going to want something in the 150+ range (I'm hoping to throw a 170 dropper on it with the low top tube).

That 40! What beauty. Whats up with the knee? At least you don't have to pedal as much riding DH?

That thing looks fun! Sweet ride

I think I have a minor meniscus tear. Jacked it rearranging the garage a few weekends ago. Not in any pain just some uncertainty in the joint at times. Trying to take it easy on it until it's more normal. Well I am now.. I just spent a long weekend in Sedona hiking on it. :der:

Hopefully will get my build finished up this week. No DH for me I pedal my laps so will be sticking to the ground until it's rehabbed.

Deep Dive into the pain cave yesterday, ready as I'll ever be for the Whiskey 50

Swapped my I9 rear wheel with fresh bearings with 2.5 Assegai back on for superior rolling speed

Ascent was off it was only 6500 feet compared a few of my other buddies. Last climb I bonked pretty good at about 45 miles. Hike-a-biked most of the climb and hopped back on for the final decent. I have been kind of testing the waters on nutrition side of things with these few long distance rides. (I've been Keto past 5 years) So fasted all the way until mile 40 this ride other than 2 LMNT Salt packets in my water. Think I found my limit was about 40-45 miles. For the race next week, I will plan on stopping about halfway through to eat something with the way it works out to be at the top of the last major climb.

Have some prep to do before we head to AZ Thursday AM

    Going to throw new :

    derailleur
    Shifter cable.
    grips,
    tires
    rear brake pads

give her a little spit shine and should be ready to party!

do you have a plan on nutrition? like what you plan on eating?

i bought the feed zone books that includes a portables specific one. ive only tried a handful of stuff but they do give me a boost of energy for about an hour or so. the author worked with tour de france teams.

oh man..that's the worst. Kinda has that unstableness going on? Might be worth getting scoped out to see how bad is if doesn't start to get better. Knowing me I wouldn't either haha Doctors just give you news and take your money.

Hope for a speedy recovery for ya!

    Going to bring:

    2 LMNT Salt packets
    zip bag of smokehouse almonds
    2 Costco Protein bars

Bottle of water on my Frame
and then another 20 oz pouch in the frame.

Most rides I do completely Fasting.

Not a long-distance rider by any means but 5 recent long rides (35,38, 40, 47 and yesterday's 50 miler) I have gone with the above and haven't had any issues other than yesterday at the end of the ride which was way hotter then it has been.

    Ditto, I love the bike!
The forecaster tires work great on the rocky hardpack trails around me.
But i had to raise the seat post to get the best position, so a longer dropper for XL would be nice.

Thanks, Yea I'm gonna give it two more weeks. I did MCL and meniscus on the other knee a few years back. Was way worse than this, that one took a few months.

I'm really happy with the forecaster, I will be swapping out the rear for a faster roller. Maybe the ikon or rekon. Then have a spare forekaster for the front.

Edit: I may also look at the aggressor it's rear specific for exactly the conditions I have.

Ouch, I feel your pain. I had my meniscus repaired while getting many other parts of my knee done.
Take it slow and get the strength built up from rehab, then have your Dr tell you that the best movement for it is biking!
That's what mine said, so I can try and pull the "doctors orders" I need to go ride:thumbsup:;)

That's a wild nutrition plan! I am about to do a 50 mile race this weekend, I'm probably gonna be eating a gel (spring energy is my go to) every hour plus food at aid stations and I might throw a sandwich in at the end. You should check out Base Salt, basically sea salt in a tube haha but it is super convenient and doesn't tie electrolytes to water intake which I'm a big fan of.

I'm also finishing up my bike setup. I just got the MTX pads and HS2 rotor for the rear. I swapped from DHF DHRII to Dissector front and Rekon rear.

Also, not sure the terrain for your race but one thing I have seen people do is wrap bar tape near the stem to give some padding/grip to change up hand position. I don't think I am going to have an opportunity to get aero since it's mostly singletrack and fire roads but I'm probably going to try it since I have some scraps.

I've been digging the rekon in the back. Most of my miles on the ripley have been on it and i've been happy with it. I had the DHRII for like 50-100miles and it was solid but at least for around here it's probably a tiny bit aggressive. Now that I have the big bike that will get the heavy duty tires haha.

If you’re looking for faster rolling I don’t think the aggressor is where you wanna go. Great tire, and not exactly slow, but fast it is not. In the Maxxis line up the Rekon would certainly be a faster roller, and lighter.

If only I9 sold raw un-ano'd hubs we could coat ourselves.
