I have my tires filled to there Max amount, tpms light doesn't go away. I did some research found there's a way to basically reset it but it doesn't work. How do I get rid of that light?

Does it blink at first and then go steady on or is it just on when you turn the key on?

If it's blinking then more than likely one or more of the tire pressure sensors has failed, any tire shop should be able to read them and tell you which one(s) have failed.

Would this be on the tire or the truck?

One in each tire and 06 has one in the spare too I believe, so 5 total.
Most tire shops (really all "should") will have the tool to read the sensors and see which one(s) aren't responding.

Yea like Dm93 said the spare could have one, check it’s pressure. That’s what always trips the wife’s 4Runner.

My 2007 recently started flashing for a time then go steadily on. Last fall it was on steady and found it was the spare that was low, but now that it's flashing then steady, one or more sensors have likely failed as Dm93 said. The batteries are supposed to last about 10 years so they lasted longer than usual. I think newer than 2007 trucks the spare didn't have a TPMS.

 I don't think that is a good idea. Look at the sticker in the drivers door opening.

    All stock, baby!
Many shops will install and program the sensors for free if you’re buying a set of tires. I’ve had this done at America’s Tire on both my Tacoma and Chevy Volt, even bringing in my own sensors. I would happily have paid, but I’m not going to complain about that kind of service.

I bought my new sensors at the Denso site. I fully expect I will get a decade of life out of them, just like the originals.

I'd rather always deal with that light rather then spending $300
    If it's a tire problem doesn't matter

06 here. The spare has a TPMS in it. Definitely check your spare. For me its always the tire that loses pressure when the weather gets cold...that and its 17 year old rubber under there just slow leaking.

But - would that cause several seconds of flashing then finally turning on steady? I thought that meant one or more sensor was not communicating. I will check the spare though. I know my 2007's spare has a sensor, originally it was causing the TPMS light to be on steady. I think beginning in 2008 spare tires didn't have them.
Me too - for decades I would just check the air myself. There's a way to electronically disable the light - but I heard there could be differences, such as connecting a +5 or 12v or a ground instead to another lead to disable it depending on the year.

You can get a 4 pack from Amazon for about $60.

    Amazon.com: MORESENSOR Signature Series 315MHz TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor 4-Pack | Preprogrammed for Select 270+ Japanese Brand Models | Replacement for 42607-33011 | Snap-in | NX-S008-SN-4 : Automotive

Since there is one in the spare on that model you'll need a 5th one.

You don't need more than 30-35 PSI in the tires on a Tacoma.

Mine were still working 2 years ago but I ordered new ones and had them installed when I bought tires last time. There was no extra charge to install them. I knew the old sensors wouldn't out last the new tires. Sensors typically last 7-10 years, but mine were still working after 14 years. I've had others go at 8-9 years.

If you are close to needing new tires I'd just wait and have it done then. If not, local shops charge $10/tire to install and program them. Just be aware that if your spare is 10 years old or older no shop will touch it. Mine was the 14 year old original. I picked up a 2 year old used tire for $35 to use as a spare and had the new sensors installed with it.

If you're paying $300 to get sensors replaced, you're getting raped. It's about $60-$80 every 10 years. That is less than I'd spend on one meal per year at McDonalds.

And they are not intended to replace an air gauge. They are there to warn you of a sudden tire deflation while driving. It's happened to me twice since I started driving vehicles with sensors. Both times I ran over debris that punctured a tire. The warning gave my just enough time to get off the road and stopped before the tire went completely flat. For such a small cost I'll keep working sensors.
