    God, I hate our power company. We've been waiting for over a week for them to review the final inspection and then issue the agreement that has to be signed by us and the solar company representative before we can go hot. I called the solar company this morning and asked them to check with the power company to see what the hold up is - we had been told we'd most likely be on by last Saturday.

    Happy Birthday @Tacoma Mike !!!!!:hbd::hbd::hbd:

    :pccoffee: :wave: sixtys/wannabes/Cobra geeks. When I saw my first Cobra when I was 10 or 11, at the New York Auto Show. I still remember it.

    We have the unpleasant task of seeking a new insurance provider. Our provider for 30+ years, Erie, has dropped our auto coverage due to my wife having two very minor accidents within an 8 week period. Our agency claims to have appealed it, but we had to call them to find out the result, which did not fill us with confidence in their competence. Plus they won't help us find new coverage until 30 days before Erie drops us, but that might be a legal limitation. At any rate we're dropping Erie altogether, and we're dropping our agency too. Not a pleasant process.

    Oooh! I might like to get in on that. I have a bit more of a commute but so what. Maybe Mike can swing us some pit access...

    ...in which case I'd better say Happy Birthday @Tacoma Mike !! I don't usually do the birthday thing but in this case I might need a favor. ;)

    You can see one any time you like at the Simeone Auto Museum in Philadelphia. It's a tremendous museum in general, and it has quite a collection of Shelby/Ford vehicles in particular. It would be a day trip for you, check it out!

    In our racing you do have pit access. We wear pit bands for insurance reasons. So you don’t have to wish me a happy birthday.LOL.

    Looks to be a 66 SS 396, judging by the louvers on the hood!

    Wish it was.
    A guy I know traded garage spaces with me when he replaced my crusty body mounts in the Nova.
    It's a low miles unmolested original 66 SS.
    The original owner took it all apart, and it sat that way for years, and the current owner put it all back together.

    In about 1968 my brother put a 283 in an Austin Healey. He was fascinated with the early Cobra roadsters. Fat tires and a locked up rear differential and the car wouldn't turn. We had a long, straight driveway and we'd push the car backwards to the road and then he'd have me sit on the cowl in front of the windshield and pour gas in the carb while he steered. Thankfully the brakes worked.

    Agreed, I occasionally reflect on the number of times I came within a heartbeat of being Tango Uniform; many of which (but fortunately not all) were due to my own stupidity.

    We used to stack pallets on the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate Bridge climb into the catwalks, walking the 18” beams and drink beer in the painters nets under the bridge.

    Evening all:

    JUST LUCKY!
    One thing I learned with the Impala was to play in a straight line, that car defiantly wasn't built to play with curves!

    A street machine turning 12.2 was fast for back in the day Mike, anything from 13.00 into the 12's made you one of the top dogs on the street most anywhere in the late 60's and early 70's. Looking at the new stuff, I would love to have one of the last call 1,000 hp Dodge Challenger SRT Demons, if I could get it for MRSP, if I had proper storage, and if I had enough time left to see it go on the block 20 yrs. from now at Barrett-Jackso and sell for 5-6 million, lots of ifs there and the last one is the one that worries me the most!! :laughing:
