Could be for a hard sliding Tonneau cover, they're all the rage now.

Hey, someone on TW will produce and sell an anti-theft bracket to prevent thieves from stealing your speaker! It’s bound to happen.

    So was this :)

Now something that would actually be cool and useful, and I think its been done before in some no name car:

Portable LED dome light/flashlight. Same concept as speaker, but something actually useful.

Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't spend what they'd want for it, and I'm not asking for it by any means. I think we can all agree paint that doesn't peel/flake, two key fobs, a tune that doesn't suck, and the many more easy things not listed would all supercede the want for a $50 BT speaker or flashlight.

I'm thinking it will be standard on some model lines i.e. Trail Edition Etc. and an option for an upgraded infotainment package.

I don't care either way about the speaker, but I'm really bummed out to see that giant infotainment screen sticking out of the dash rather than being within the dash. I really hate that design.

Interesting point. I really am thinking that the cabin will be much larger it won't seem as obtrusive as you may think. But in the dash would be better I think you're right.

Hate it too, but I feel they are going the same route as the Tundra. Will use the in-dash radio (smaller screen) for SR5 and below with the bigger screen that protrudes the dash for the TRD and above as optional

I know which design I prefer, and it's not even close.

But the Jeep Gladiator has one for the "lifestyle" folks, so Toyota follows the trend. At least it isn't pretending to be a subwoofer...

Blow on the contacts when the speaker doesn't sound right?

It’s more likely going to be a mixture of those two pictures

    See Tundra’s interior

I don’t know, I get annoyed when leaves get sucked in through the rear window on my 3rd gen, so not useless in my eyes…
