    Hey sawdust,
I see this thread making it to at least page 17. I saw on another thread where you offered Viper an Honorary Texan title in order to drive nd nuts. I may not be worthy of such a lofty title but I would take it if offered. BTW...I immediately understood the meaning of "software architect so you can work on cars". :D

Page 17? Do I dare dream it?

I'm cool with you being an Honorary Texan. A Kansasan (?) can appreciate the wide open spaces, the cattle drives, and most importantly you poke fun at the alliance every chance you get. But I just want to make clear that Texas is not organizing. We don't need to do that to take on the drunken lazy alliance that makes weak threats but covets our hot women. There's no need to create an organization just to shoo flies.

Feel free to speak instead of type. Just make sure you do it real loud if you want me to reply, or just talk to yourself (whatever floats your boat ). Can your cellphone cans-n-string reach this far?

I wasn't really serious. I was kinda making fun of the older generation of gearheads who started whining when computers were introduced to cars. I'm not afraid of learning something about computer controls, so I'm ready to learn about modern cars. I'm just making smalltalk relating what I do for a living to why I'm on this forum.

Did my first mod today. See the header bar right up there ^

My Access Limited rollup tonneau is due for delivery tomorrow. I'll be filling up the gas tomorrow. Hopefully between these two mods I'll see a couple of mpg increase. I'll be monitoring it. Oh, yeah, I also should break 1000 miles tomorrow.

So you're telling me your willing to give an Alliance member your phone number? Not to smart if you ask me, but i think our string phones can handle it. I got what your saying now, cars are starting to get crazy complicated with computers and everything.

I went ahead and added my second mod to the truck, a rollup tonneau. It's not finished, but I'm itching to start filling out the mod section in the header. I forgot to install the seal to the front of the bed before I attached the cover, so this weekend it'll have to come off and go back on. Plus I have to seal around the tailgate.

I'll be monitoring the gas mileage. I filled up yesterday at just under 1K miles. The previous tank was at 18 mpg city, 50% AC. I'm hoping to hit 20 mpg with the tonneau and the secondary air filter removal. Today I did notice more throttle responsiveness especially from a standstill because of the air filter removal. I had to be careful not to "goose the taco" leaving red lights.

I took my air filter off with a different method than I've heard anyone else do. I've got a handy-dandy set of sharp chisels at hand. I took the smallest chisel and just pared off the end of those plastic buttons in place. If/when warranty work comes, I'll put it back over the remainder of the posts. Oh, and be aware there are 6 posts. Initially I had only done the 4 corners, then realized there are ones top center and bottom too.

Oops, I've gone a whole week without keeping this thread alive. What was I thinking?

Anyway, I just found out who has the matching Tacoma in the parking lot. We worked together on a project a couple of years ago. We both complimented each other's taste in trucks. Even funnier is that he's also got a hobby of making sawdust. I pointed him at the forum, so we may just have another software-architecting, sawdust-making, Taco-driving, Texan in the forum.

nd ought to be shaking in his boots about now :p

I used to raise rabbits as a 4H project. I don't have the energy to emulate them any more.

Edit: I think I lost a post, anyway, I was just going to say don't quit your day job. I wouldn't expect the 2K+ poster paycheck to cover your truck payment, much less your beer budget.

I was just about to ask that...does he mean cooler? ND, can you translate the Texas-ish language?
