For the record, you having made this kit available is a big reason I decided to take the leap in doing a manual swap because it's one really important part of getting this swap done right and one less thing to think about. Since I got my DCLB, I just can't stand the auto tranny (the first auto in a Toyota for me), so doing this is going to be key to keeping my truck another 10 or 15 years. Thanks so much!

It is a limo! Pretty sure it's as long as our regular cab long bed OBS F-350 and that thing is giant.

Picked up the RC62 from LKQ today. One big step (spend) out of the way!

 

EDIT: I inquired with Tilton on the 62-612 versus 62-6122 piston discrepancy and there is in fact a slight difference between the two. Dimensionally they are slightly different but not in a way that effects the mating with my adaptor bushing. Production has ended for the 62-612 and as such 62-6122 will be the official replacement for it. My adaptor bushing will work with either part number, so order whichever is available to you at the time of purchase.

@BillDaCat8 please update the shopping list notes when you can.

 

Can the height difference be accounted for by adjusting the threaded sleeve?

EDIT: Just checked Summit and the 62-612 part is not available from Summit Racing (where I got all the other parts) or from JEGS, both saying "part is discontinued". Guess we'll have to go directly through Tilton.

 

While I'm here...did you guys need to modify anything to the center console and boot to accommodate for the RC62F shifter being further back?

Have been thinking about doing a 3rd gen e-brake conversion and just modifying my A/T center console instead of spending money and hacking up a new manual center console, especially if it needs modification to accommodate the RC62.

 

Unfortunately I bought 62-6122 back in September so I am well outside the 90 day return policy with summit. I'm just trying to offload all this stuff at this point and recoup what I can. Unless I can find a way to make 61-6122 work for another member, I'm out $70 on that cylinder alone.

EDIT: @Littles @DesertRatliff you guys are good with the 62-6122 actually. Tom just got back to me today admitting there was a mixup on his end. He clarified some more dimensions with me. Dimensionally they are slightly different but not in a way that effects the mating with my adaptor bushing. Production is ending for the 62-612 and 62-6122 is the official replacement.

I just sent an email over to summit with links to these posts asking them to update their product descriptions with dimensions and pictures for 62-6122 for the benefit of everyone. Hopefully that helps since Tilton is still figuring out what's going on internally with their products 6 months later.

Rereading this thread after about a year and once again amazed at all the legwork that you and @BillDaCat8 did on this. I'll be thanking you guys for a long time.

 

If you decide to do the 3rd gen center console and e-brake swap, you'll have to start a new thread and link to us here... only think I'm really not a fan of on my 09 is the e-brake location and operation.

 

I'll definitely do a separate thread for my swap either way and not clog this one up with that.

I grew up with manual trans Toyota trucks so part of me is nostalgic towards that and the other part of me wants an e-brake in a normal location! Plus, it looks like it'd be cheaper to do the 3rd gen setup and I'm already shocked how much money I've spent for this.

 

I can confirm the 62-6122 works with @Kasbien kit and adjust/lands perfect.
