Kids will be kids, gotta call their bluff I’m sure they were sniffing around and just curious, generally a thief isn’t going to be your neighbor unless they’re really stupid

speaking of good morning, my one guard cat has let me down he hasn’t moved in quite a while, something tells me he isn’t paying much attention this early

Yeah. LOL. We did have a situation about 15 years ago where another neighbor, a former army vet who fought in Afghanistan broke into my next door neighbor's house. The old man next door and his wife had left for church but the old man just dropped his wife off and returned to find his door open and the vet's dog on his porch, which was the give away as to who did it. The kid apparently ran out the back door and through the woods to his house. It turned out the poor kid had suffered injuries in the war and was addicted to opiates. He was looking for quick cash. I had sympathy for the young kid, in his 20s, because I know that stuff can ruin lives. The old man, a vet himself who fought in Vietnam, felt he had to press charges. It turned put after a brief time in jail, the kid was sent to a VA hospital to treat his addiction and they sent him to live elsewhere, to make a fresh start.

My two boys aren't much of guard dogs. You think they would of alerted me but nope they both were passed out next to me.

Unfortunately new jersey doesn't have a stand your ground law. That's the 1 thing I miss about living in Florida. Someone breaks in your house you have every right to defend yourself. New Jersey is like ok you can but we we throw the book at you.

PA doesn't really either, but that's not stopping me from dusting your ass if you step foot inside my house haha. Jersey is a whole other world it seems like, good friend of mine took his concealed carry with him into Jersey cause my friends took him there for his bachelor party. Otherwise he probably would of left it home, anyhow he had enough sense to leave it in the hotel room at least when they went out bar-hopping. Went to leave the next day and forgot it in the room, by the time he went back for it the maid had found it and called the cops. He went through so much legal bullshit over that it was ridiculous. They wanted to give him 2 to 3 years possibly and he would of missed his first kid being born, for THAT! Luckily, he got off with a year probation and couldn't own a firearm that entire time. So stupid, especially considering he did absolutely nothing with it, just forgot it in his hotel room.

GOod morning All. Work and the business have been kicking my tail recently. With the new training classroom in Schwenksville being a new source of "overhead", it has been pretty tough the last few months. Not much time to get on here and see how people are doing.

TRying to catch up on the thread while I do some paperwork and get prepped for some range time (work related) this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a great day!

    Dave

If I'm not mistaken this happened to a pa teacher driving through New Jersey a couple years ago. They threw her in jail lost her job all that over something that wasn't even that serious. New Jersey sucks.

    Yeah. Shaneen Allen.

She's one of the cases I site when I teach CCW classes as to why everyone NEEDS some sort of firearms training.

Irony is, the same Judge and DA that wanted to throw the book at her, allowed Ray Rice, who was caught on video beating his wife in an Atlantic City elevator, allowed Rice to get off on a 1st time offender "ARD" type program. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2014/08/10/ray-rice-shaneen-allen-gun-column/13862831/

I hate it when I have to go to NJ to train. I have to buy all new hardware in order to bring stuff in to NJ without running afoul of the law.

New jersey gun laws are ridiculous. My father is a retired chief of police. He served 28years And the hoops he had to go through just to get ccw is crazy. He retired in 07 tried to get it after retired. Got tired of dealing with it and didn't pursue it until last year when he finally got it.

YES! His attorney actually used that case to help with his, I believe she was fighting her conviction as well and established precedence ahead of his case. He even contacted the NRA for help. I don't know if they actually did anything but they were in talks to offer assistance if needed.

Due to the national public outcry, the NJ gov was backed in to giving her a pardon. She didn't fight her conviction. Originally, she was given the option to be placed into a first time offenders program if she plead guilty.

Hopefully it works out for your buddy. My general rule is to just stay out of NJ unless i'm required to go into the state. I'm NOt going to give money to that anti-freedom state.

Our solar system was turned on today - about 1PM. It was a mostly cloudy day and it really clouded up and rained mid-afternoon. But, we got a nice burst of power early on and it was sweet to see the meter flow moving backwards!!

Evening Pa. Leaving in the am for three nights @ the sweetest place on earth. Union delegate convention, probably #12 for us. Might be our last. Told my woman this and she was not happy. Been in a union leadership position for 14 consecutive years, getting a little burned out but plugging forward with contract negotiations.
