    And that early Hyrdamatic had no "park" position. Tough transmissions, they were often used in heavy trucks of the time. Not sure about earlier, but they were four speeds in '57/8 and it made those Oldsmobiles very high top end cars. They would hit 140. Don't ask me how I know...

    Two rotations later and they remain everywhere out here. I remember crossing the Sound on the way back from an interview a long time ago & “the mountain was out”. I imagined it was the stump of a tree that held the moon in its boughs.

    Found an animal skull the other day on a hike. No other bones present so maybe carried there by another animal? I thought 'dog' at first based on the shape, but no canine teeth. Any ideas?
