1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I park on gravel and I'm not motivated to pull the 1FZ at the moment. It's just leaky, not hurting anything though, it has a neato 1 quart low light that comes on to let me know when it needs a top up. Even then it has seven more quarts in it still.

 

Dang you gotta pull it for those? More appreciation for my 5VZ now

 

Or at least lift it up a lot. the upper pan is kinda big and bulky aluminum piece. I could do the oil pump gasket in the driveway though without disassembling anything

Mine was from Harbor Freight; read up on it not to mention watching some videos and no one has had an issue with it with the exception of the vacuum lines

Specifically the line and cap fitting over the bleeder valve; they just recommend using grease to completely seal it up and that's it

 

Oh nice, didn't realize HF had one, I'll have to give it a try!

 

All Harbor Freight needs to start doing is selling fasteners like a hardware store and I probably wouldn't go anywhere else

I mean they do sell some limited kinds in kits but it's not a reliable place to find what you need in that area

 

Some of the hardware they include in heavy lifting equip and whatnot is really bad cheese grade shit. I didn't even use the bolts that came with my engine stand, they were too sketchy. They should not have a hardware section

 

They carry 3; 2 are those manual hand pump types (Central Machinery) and the 3rd is a pneumatic bleeder/refill (Holt Industries)

When I get their press, I won't be using the included hardware. It's so cheap.

 

Well mine was $50 so that one must be at least a 1/10

 

Ace is the only place around here with a good metric selection. They definitely need competition for pricing's sake though
