Check with your local stores. I had held out when @jandrews let me know this stuff was coming in to the neighboring county. Point is, there appears to be some volume. The store that had the Booker’s had two cases. I think they all got two.

 

I'll be in the Raleigh area next week for work...will have to look around for that BT.

 

I told myself I'm going to stop buying bottles for a bit and then caved in today after I had the chance to get these at my local BevMo.

79.99 for the 10 year, 99.99 for the 12. Also got to use my 10 off which helped

 

Nice find. I tried to get those around here. The only store that still had them was asking scalper prices for them.

 

All I've ever seen is bad prices on them, just got lucky today, thankfully. When I open it I can send over a sample if you'd like, not sure when I'm going to open either of them though

 

Everything I'm reading is that the 10 is good but the 12 is a landmark classic.

If I remember correctly I saw a 10 for $350 somewhere on a trip recently. Nevada I believe.

 

I got word that a Costco about 45 minutes away from me had both of them at MSRP. Alas, between work & single parenting a 19 month old I couldn’t make it happen. Nice score!

 

Super stoked I was able to get them. Also, I'm lucky enough to have a job to where I can leave when I have to. The 10 year batch 1 was really good, so I expect the same from batch 2, but I've been hearing the same about the 12 year and that's the one I'm going to open first.

What Costco?!

 

Our one local store will post on Friday afternoon what they are having for Saturday morning. If it's something good the line will start about 2hrs before they open. I usually stop on my way home from work to check what is coming which usually ends in me getting to the liquor store at 7am Saturday morning haha.

 

We have one across the border in SC that does something similar, though they make it an Easter Egg hunt. They announce 3 or 4 rarities will be hidden somewhere in the store. I hear they get quite a line.

 

This sounds like a terrible idea for so many reasons.

 

Part of me thinks they do it for their own entertainment value.

It only occurred to me that they’re doing it to laugh at their customers when they announced their Pappy Dodgeball Tournament:

 

I’d need to clearly understand what “highly allocated” meant…if I ran around like an idiot with other idiots, and came up sweating with a Blanton’s, there might be a homicide.
