We have a local mom and pop hardware store in a small community near my house/work that has a great hardware selection, @Kwikvette it was that place we went to when you were over here with your 4runner. It got bought out by Ace a few years ago but still has the same people there working it and looks the same.

The only option we have in town without driving further is Home Depot and their selection is hit and miss, and their automotive grade stuff is abysmal...it's like 4 drawers that you can tell haven't been restocked or organized in years

Orchard Supply used to be down the street from me and they had an amazing hardware selection surprisingly, but they went out of business

How did it get bought out by Ace if Ace is a franchise?

It's one of those things that makes more sense as a vending machine tbh

:notsure: one day "Ace Hardware" was added to their sign and they put up a bunch of Ace branding. Maybe they bought into the franchise and just converted their current store, would explain why the people all stuck around

Cool people, still have that extra caliper set I bought there.

I wish we had a Fastenal in my town, but surprised there's one in the next town over where Stephanie's family lives. I remember reading up about how Fastenal is supposed to sell to commercial business only yet they've helped me each and every time I go.

    Nice work!

What did you use for schematic capture and layout?

Both hair and beard are on point.

    Altium

I had used Eagle a few years ago that I decided after this I remembered being a lot more intuitive. But now they mashed it with a Fusion 360 subscription ugh

If I cut you one, or anyone else it'll surely come out better.

Reason? My consumables were long worn before cutting that sign. Only noticed after I pulled them off since another member will need some 1/4" cut out soon.

    20230423_141052.jpg

That electrode was long gone many cuts ago :bananadead:

As for the beard? I trimmed that shit a good few inches. That and I put mittens on the little dude cause he's yanked out plenty of hair already :bananadead:

I had a Merc 300D back in the day. At 100,000 miles, it burned 1 quart of oil with each tank of diesel fuel.

Speaking of burning oil, it's clear @Ozark_RegCab never owned an RX7 FD :burp:

If you're not mixing oil and gasoline on one of those anyway you're going to ruin it quickly

Gross. Seems to be the way EVERYTHING is going these days, sadly.

I only really ever used Cadence, but always wanted to try Altium.

Board layout can be pretty enjoyable with the right design suite, assuming your net list isn’t fucked. I always appreciated that you could design a bunch of global rules for trace widths, separation, etc. and then just go ham on it. Super cool, but not something I get to do much anymore.

I never thought that I’d get to say this, but my damn office is just about done. That would be pretty sweet to hang on the door :D.

And yeah, having had a long ass beard around babies, I know how danger zone that can be haha. Definitely a very particular type of pain!
