    It was the last generation of Mazdas Wankel rotary engines and unfortunately the build quality is piss poor and the materials used are pretty poor as well so they had low rebuild ability and low performance capability

    Huge difference in performance, market, etc.

    Not even a comparison.

    That's good to know.... bossman wants to buy Mazdas "new rotory" they're putting in the MX30(?) And make a powerpack and slab saw around it :facepalm::puke:

    I'm doing my best to convince him otherwise... we should invest that time and money into battery tech but he wants to do both:notsure:

    I can't think of any advantage of using a rotary motor at all for any reason. The only time it's kind of acceptable anymore would be in a motorcycle because revving high is nice and you don't need a lot of torque

    @jubei

    It cut quick, and clean...until it didn't.

    Guess the thickness made it "pop up" and cause the torch to shut off a few times.

    20230426_183027.jpg

    Yours if you want it, I'll just have to finish the remaining cuts with my mini cut off wheel and/or hand torch.

    That and if you can live with the cut above the letter I that is.

    Edit: just realized the O isn't done. I'll just scrap it and cut another.

    Maybe it’d be good in a track car, like a 3 rotor?

    It's 100% because of the size... because they're smaller than normal 4stroke engines they "theoretically" fit our application. Blue collar guys want their equipment as small and light, as possible.

    He doesn't care about fuel economy nor longevity... which upsets me to no end because as a guy that's worked on and worked with power equipment practically his entire life. Longevity and service is damn near just as important as size and weight.

    I believe they're MORE important but most of our customers think the way bossman thinks:annoyed:

    So wait...... do you guys treat me different due to my mental and physical ailments?

    Cause I don't think you guys make fun of me anywhere near as much as you should (or I've had nothing but toxic friendships in the past and I'm accustomed to more abuse than you guys dish out)
