How did you mount the ram mount to the dash? Did you just drill and through bolt it or is there a backer plate?

Installed a set of Striker hood support struts today. SO much better than muscling the hood up onto the prop rod. Release the hood and it pops up a few inches, disengage the catch and it raises quickly up to about 3/4 of the way and then slowly to the top. Set it at about 6" above the OEM prop rod height. :woot:

I change every 5k on my 4x4 4 cyl. I use a Toyota filter/crush washer and whatever 0w20 full synthetic oil is cheapest. I really don't think it matters.. however this is a highly debatable subject.

With my 475k first gen I did 5w20 every 3k with the same method.. just get what was cheapest and keep up on the intervals.. it's not worth spending the extra $$$ or thinking too much about it to me... I'll get over 300k with cheap oil and regular intervals.

This happened…Toyota said the tire needs to be replaced. Is that true or can it be patched? My tire pressure hasn’t gone down at all.

Thanks man. I have the eibach pro truck lift kit on the top notch (in preparation for a front bumper and sliders). The wheels are SCS 16” Ray 10’s. The tires are 315 yokahama geolanders. Of course I I had to do an aggressive CMC and pinch weld flatten to fit that size tire.

It’s pretty close to the sidewall and imagine most shops are going to tell you it needs to be replaced.

Yeah, I went to a tire shop I've gone to a few times (they remembered me) and they said to just replace it, but just wanted other peoples' thoughts before I spend $350 tomorrow at Toyota :(

    Too much to list
Got the new roof rack and tankless water heater yesterday, new shower today. Just waiting on my light bar and the inserts for the extrusion bars.

also going to make some straps to hold my water tank on my roof rack here soon. Just looking for the best way to bend the aluminum flat stock.

Can it be patched? If there's enough surface area to prep for a patch, the patch will adhere. But in this instance it is probably not recommended. Any tire chain store or Dealership will say it cannot be patched for liability reasons. Usually if it's an inch from the wall of the tire they won't do it. Just keep you eye on your psi.

I would personally try plugging it, see how long that nail actually is.

Toyota and the independent tire shop I went to said to replace the whole tire. I don't know how long its been in my tire, but my psi hasn't gone down whatsoever in a month (when the tires were put on), so I have no idea what happened. I'm moving across the country (and driving), so I really don't want to have a tire issue. I guess I'll just get the new tire. RIP my wallet I guess. Thanks though!!

Since it looks like a small diameter nail....plug it or have a local tire shop(not toyota) patch it from the inside. A good plug or patch job will last for many, many miles

...perhaps see about a used tire to just get you cross country.

Installed the Toyota specific OEM Audio Plus bass level switch. Pretty cool, except when turning to Minimum it increases bass, and turning to Maximum decreases bass. Haha! Gonna email them and see what's up.

Plug that sumbitch. I’ve plugged many a tire on all sorts of different vehicles and never had a problem.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
If it hasn't leaked its probably going into the sidewall and not into open space to leak air or it's really short? If its angled in towards the center enough it can possibly be patched? Not sure how they can just say replace it without looking inside. :notsure:
