Yesterday I noticed that I broke my left-handed answer to the safety on my turkey gun. With the safety at the front of the trigger guard and a pistol grip stock, it is an Olympic caliber gymnastic feat to operate the safety. My answer was this plastic "prototype" that lasted 4 years. I don't have good pictures, but there is a cam on the backside of the tab. The cam rides on the trigger guard and as the lobe swells during rotation, it pulls the safety off. My proof of concept worked so well I just left it. It probably broke from our government forced use of a trigger lock repeatedly putting pressure on it.

I schnizzled a new one from aluminum, but don't have any pictures yet. I have no aluminum welding capability, so it's in the vice while the JB weld sets up.

Here's a couple of pictures from when I made the first one. 20190206_092652.jpg 20190206_092616.jpg

Few guys I work say I don't know why you hunt deer, venison is dry and bland. I have my ground meat mixed 80/20 with pork fat.
Their wives aren't making venison meatloaf...
    2lbs ground venison
    1 egg
Shot of worchester, garlic salt, pepper
    1 chopped onion
    Montreal steak seasoning

    Enjoy

I don't mix anything with our ground and we love it. A lot is in the butchering, deer fat is bitter and silver skin is tough, so you have to trim away as much of both as possible.

The other thing I find is people overcook. Being lean, deer goes from done to show leather in a blink. I hesitate to give it away because I'm afraid most people accidentally wreck it. I'm happy to cook it for friends it they're willing to eat medium rare beef. I don't apply any more heat than that. :)

Off to see if I can find another bird...

Like many things they have talked themselves into believing it has a poor and dry taste now it does all the time.

Either told by a mother or wife at one time.

My Mom could ruin the best cuts of meat taught by Grandma if any fluid was inside it was still under cooked.

There's a rumor floating around that a local electrical distributor is serving a free lunch today. After last week's pulled pork and yesterday's donut, a guy could get used to this.

For the longest time I had no idea meat could ever taste good , i avoided at all costs some thought I was a gung ho vegetarian .

Funny How being cold and wet and thinking your starving can reduce cooking time .

The firsttime I thought it was a a bunch of errors that made it taste good.

Never again did anything I shot go to be ruined.
