Here is my advice to this group. All jokes aside…

Travel. Travel as much as you can!

All the work you do and all the time we’ve spent on our jobs working for the company or military. Money doesn’t buy time back so live the best life you can while you can!

    Damn good advice.

Another one I always push is to be open to living in a new place. Know way too many people who plan to live in their home state for their entire lives. Doesn’t need to be across the country, but don’t restrict yourself to that little comfort zone.

I'm on that track now. I've lived in Washington my entire life, but I'm thinking Idaho, Montana, or Utah

I love traveling. My mom and I have done many road trips and have gone on a few trips through my church to Germany, Czech Republic, Ireland, Wales and England. Lots of fun!
Went to many places when I was in Boy Scouts up until I got Eagle and aged out.

Only thing I'm nervous about frankly is my Oma is getting older (86) next year, I live closest to her and spend a few days a month at her house helping out, my parents are up there in age as well, and its nice keeping them company.
I could care less about my friend group here. All of my closest friends have already moved away.
I just need to live with in an hour and a half ish of a ski hill, have some mountain biking trails close, and be closish to shooting pits

I am born and raised Arizonan. Left there in 1997 with the Coast Guard. I’ve been stationed in California. Alaska. Washington and Virginia. I’ve driven the ALCAN, I’ve driven cross country 10x and been all over this country. Man, there is so much of this country to see and experience! Don’t limit yourself! Get out and see things and places.

I’m divorced and my ex is a civilian with the army. She moved to Germany last year with our son…so what did I do? I went to Germany to see our son . Germany is a fantastic place to go to. I’m an born and bred American and I will flat out tell you, Germany was amazing and I would not hesitate to consoder it as a retirement place…and I was there in the winter…

Ah, ya. I've been to Germany a few times. LOVE it. Drove on the autobahn, went to the 'ring, have family there etc.... Doing Iceland, Holland, and Norway (for a family reunion) this summer and I'm pretty excited about it. Might just drive down to Utah this summer to check it out. I've only been once, and sorta just drove though it (with a stop at Park City for some laps). Don't care for the 4% abu law, but I don't drink much anyway.

Utah has 5 national parks and the grand Escalante

    Zion.
    Capitol Reef
    Arches.
    Bryce
    Canyon lands…

With the exception of Canyonlands I’ve hit the other parks and the staircase.

We have some type of makerbot things... they absolutely suck, I used my personal one (Creality CR-10S)cause I didn't feel like messing with those ones!

I was born in 2004. I will be 20 next year. Doesn't feel at all right or ok to me.

Yup. 9/11 was about 2 1/2 years before I was born... Even though I wasn't alive to remember it happening, the fact that it was 22 years ago is still very wrong to me.

Eh. Things were different pre event. The world felt “lighter” in a sense.

But then again I never experienced the Cold War, so I’m sure every generation has their “things changed” event. Give it a few years. You’ll be lecturing the youth on some phantom pandemic where the world shut down. There was wildlife roaming the cities?! No way, dude!

Curious what @4x4Runner has to say about this. I think he has about 15 years on me.

The maps and globes in my elementary school had two Germany’s on it. I watched the Berlin Wall coming down on the news.

I was thinking the same thing, generations have their things. From 9/11, Vietnam, WWII, the Great Depression, Etc.

    The pandemic was pretty significant.

Agreed that it was significant, but as we all know, history repeats itself. Scariest part is looking at the past and correlating to “modern” events that were very much avoidable.

Starting to understand how age and wisdom are correlated, and why the older generations can become so ‘disassociated’ with reality.
    Stay young, friends.
