Always flush the first half of the list, and you will never be behind on your chores. Or that is my philosophy.

I'm thinking about replacing my plugs. I'm at 92K (?) and should be about ready in another hundred thousand miles or so.

That was the 6th time I've done it. I have to eat a big crow and say that I'm still suffering from using anti-seize on the first plug change. I was adamant that you should use it. I was so wrong. Every time I've done it since the plugs spin out with resistance. The sleeve in the spark plug socket stayed on the plug on #4. I pulled the brand new unused plug back out to fix the issue. I noticed old crud from the prior anti-seize'ing on the new threads. I cleaned them off and it went back in much easier. I wish I never did it.

This is why I joined Golfers Anonymous. I never could cure the slice. One day I was standing on the tee of a dogleg left, knew what would happen, pulled my ball and tee back out of the ground, put them and the club back in the bag. That was the last time I played. Probably 1976 or so.

Perhaps @Tacoma Mike could chime in but I'm wondering how well a few shots of carburetor cleaner might do to clean the gunk out. You'd get some in the combustion chamber but I'm not sure how much harm it would do.

I bought my house from doing engine work from people “insisting” on using never seize.

The big question... is why do you replace plugs that often? This isn't 1967 and you don't have to do a tune-up every 18K miles.

    Well, i wouldn’t do that.
Now you can take this for what it’s worth.

when I have to repair this crap I tell customers there is risk.
So, I do not spray anything in the cyl or threads.
I actually tap the threads. When the tap comes out I clean off the tap and do it again.
Then, I take my shop vac with an adapter that fits into the plug hole and suck out the cyl.
Much easier to vac hard never seize than stuff you just softened up.
I just use motor oil for the threads.

    Afternoon all:

Why don't you guys with a slice just aim off to the side and let the slice bring the ball back on the fairway, of course if you do manage not to slice here and there, you will be playing the ball out of the woods! Just trying to help!! :D
My buddy who owns the 65 FI Vette collected BUSEL BASKETS of errant golf balls from his property, apparently a lot of other golfers have the same problem!

When I get up my motor is running, problem is that most of the time it just stays on IDLE and never revs up, that's when I get nothing done and just add to the list, today was one of those days! WTH, isn't that what being retired is all about, I'll get to it when I either have to or want to! :D

I used motor oil when I nailed the hangers on my deck. I used rough cut locust wood. It is believed that you cannot nail into locust. A log cabin maker/carpenter friend looked at it, said "How did you nail into locust?" I said "I dipped the nail in motor oil." He said "Oh!"
I only use anti-sieze on camp stove parts that I want to remove later.

Because it uses copper plugs. Toyota recommends new ones every 30K miles.

Really? I wonder why copper? I might need an owners manual. That's what I get for buying used. In any case I think I'll wait until the truck tells me. I like seeing just how overly cautious manufacturer's recommendations are.

I believe in anti-seize except on lug nuts, spark plugs, and anything needing thread locker. The chrome coated plugs like ours don’t need it.

It's official; I finally kissed my Kurt Vise.

I've been machining stuff for thirty years but never hit the table or the vise until tonight.

3/4" carbide end mill, going to town on a hunk of 6061 aluminum. Well, I hadn't tightened the collet tight enough, and the cutter shift down. Darnit!

Another first was an aluminum chip that flew up and over my safety glasses landing in my eye. Aluminum swarf thankfully isn't sharp, but also, you can not
a magnetic to fish the chip out of your eye. Thankfully I keep tweezers inside my Gestener toolbox (that's why they have a mirror inside the lid) for such
occasions. Thankfully I got the chip out, no E.R. trip this time.

    Time for a beer!

Is that a true Shelby car?

My dad says he remembers one in the 1 car showroom Toyota dealer in Lansing MI. Back then he was not a Toyota fan. Looking back, he should have bought that instead of the GTO he had. FYI, I'm only 40 but I get along with most anyone.

That is the serial number one car. THE CAR.
We had both race cars at one time.I drove the 33 car in a video.
They restored both of them before I came on the scene. The was over 30 years ago.

The escrow company let you down, I would contact them first. Depending on your state you may be responsible for the taxes due.

Mike: I was not expecting such a detailed reply. Thank You. I knew it would be about parts but to have the broken parts measured and machined is new to me. It has to be a compentent machine shop that will do the work. I can imagine it took a while to find a shop that you can trust.

Welcome to being over 65. It is humbling to take an hour to do a half hour job.

Good morning. Supposed to rain all weekend with a break during the day on Saturday. Cooking a pork shoulder on Sunday so the umbrella will be up. Cleaned out the big shed early yesterday, when I came home from the gym. Lots of space in the shed now. Stuff was just everywhere and not put away. We had two of the 55-gallon drum liners filled with stuff that was broken, worn out or just not needed.
