    Good morning friends.

    3 days of rain in the forecast and it's already started. I have a model train show to go to tomorrow, so that's something. I was doing some oil leak detecting on the GMC, I'm 97% sure it's pouring out of the back of the intake manifold. I will need a full day to crack it off and reseal it.

    I got the start date for the contract job pushed back until May 8.

    I am buying a better inspection mirror today, as I can't get a good visual look at the backside. I hosed everything off yesterday with 2 cans of engine gunk ( on top of the 4 cans of Easy Off) then a can of brake cleaner. Everything was fairly clean and dry. I took a 5 mile rip around the area and when I got back, there was fresh oil covering the passenger side of the bell housing. It's coming from up top somewhere. It isn't the VC, as I had that off a few days ago.

    I had a similar experience about 4 months ago when I ordered a box of cigars from a place in PA. US Postal Service sent it to Knoxville, Nashville, my own town, and back and forth several times over a 2 week period, before they finally delivered it to me. On the 3rd time it came through my town :frusty::frusty::frusty:

    Mechanics mirror will help locate the leak but the most common oil leaks on the back of a sbc is distributor gasket or oil pressure sending unit

    Are you using cork or rubber valve cover gaskets ???
