Norfolk is one of the larger ports on the east coast. Its also where the aircraft carriers are built.

Very strong just over in Norfolk. The third largest port on the east coast is there along with some others, plus military. (Hampton as well) In VaBeach the water/ocean based industry is mainly fishing/seafood and recreation, and again, military. You can be out surfing or fishing and a boat of SEALs will casually drive by or suddenly a helicopter will show up and a whole bunch of people will just drop into the water. When I was young the first few times we were in the water when a sub went by it was a big deal.
