Can confirm. The greasier you look the more you'll blend in :D

Apparently shorts and lace leggings is strange and unusual to the Carhartt clad :bananadance:

Found on the trail on my run Tuesday. OHV area so I’ll find a decent tool every now and then.

@Speedytech7 A friend with a late 90s TJ mentioned his harmonic balancer was toast with all kinds of play. Only 160K on his Jeep which is around the mileage on your truck right? Just makes me wonder why mine looks/feels fine. Obviously the Jeep has a different engine and nothing in common with a Tacoma past the AX15 trans but it just reminded me.

I didn't even check the one on my 99 and it appeared rusty and original when I did the timing belt.

Cheaper parts maybe, usually inline 6s don't need large dampers at all because they have perfect primary balance. Wonder why it failed

Always just figured its cheap-ish protection for an area you really don't wanna crunch because its $$$ to fix.
That said, it's all flat over here and you can't bash shit in with sand so I don't have em.

That's kinda my thought, $400 and I don't have to replace literally the toughest body parts to replace.

So when I knew the wagon was going to go in, I broke down and sent the truck to the local shop because they'd get it done in a day and I didn't have to take off working. So I dropped the VW off this afternoon then went over and picked up the finished truck, and it throws a P0171 on the way home lol. (Had very slight hesitation on start too)
I don't mind paying for work, what nags me is when I don't know exactly how they did what they did so I know where to work back from, like when I do things. Hopefully the MAF is just dirty. I'm sure they pulled everything including the TB to get the new lines on. It'd be cool if shops had livestreams when they're working on your car lol.

Yeah if I were even maybe/possibly/kinda going to be around rocks or ledges I'd run them without second thought.

If they were messing with vacuum hoses then I would bet money one of them is loose or not plugged in right and causing the P0171. Vacuum leaks are probably the most common source of that code

TIL there exist mechanical filters for electrical signals. Like an LC circuit…but mechanical.

The rats got the two coolant lines going to the TB, water and water bypass, but I don't know what else the techs may or may not have pulled or messed with while working in there.

Timmy has a good clip that shows the two:

Ahhhh I'm no longer getting the code but my fuel trims are still wack. I need to check for vacuum leaks again
