60+ year old thread.

Wind started picking up, so I made 2 wrapped baked potatoes first.

 

Blech... ptui... (bitter beer face), gag, YUCK...

 

Why do the damn Gardners from the yard below me always seem to start up their gas powered dust blowers just when I am about to take my nap? I usually yell out the upstairs window of my house "Como Chingas" and slam the window shut. The neighbors whose yards they work on have no idea these bozos only blow the same dust, dirt and leaves back into their garden and don't do much else! And they are still using the same 2-cycle engines on their equipment they bought at the swap meet that somebody else dumped years ago!

I don't drink any alcohol any more. Not for quite a few years.

 

Preventive avoidance. 0.01" actual rain. Some pea size hail that would not even take a picture.
NOT there was not plenty of real severe stuff within mere miles, again....

I put soda pop in the cooler a few times. No one complained yet.

 

Evening all:

I don't drink either, never did develop a taste for beer, I'll grab the sarsaparilla or the white birch that's in the cooler, good stuff!

Turkey opens here tomorrow, nothing's ready and I may not even go out. Ever since I lost my two prime spots I also lost my ambition to go out, those were two honey holes that I hated to lose.

 

I m a long time non drinker myself. The world a better place because of it……

I don't drink anymore, either. And, I don't drink any less. Not a huge beer fan but will grab one from time to time. Gin and tonic or various bourbon concoctions...or just neat...are my drinks of choice. That said, I generally may have 3 or 4 drinks a week. I just wish I had some bourbon around here somewhere.

Good morning. Rained all day yesterday, supposed to be overcast today with rain tomorrow. We are headed to the opening of the dockside bar, for the season, at Pirates Cove restaurant in the early afternoon today. Already have the pork shoulder for tomorrow night's dinner in a wet brine solution.

 

Stop by, you won't even have to leave the house. I think he was waiting for me to take him for a coffee this morning

 

Morning all:

I have one hen hanging around the yard, a few years back there was a bunch of them, and the one year there were five gobblers in the yard almost every morning. For a while we saw turkeys everywhere, not so much anymore, and if there is a flock somewhere on open land there will be hunters all over the place in that area, best to stay away from those places!
