    I remember catching a seagull as a kid. I cast out and it grabbed my bait in the air. I reeled it in like I had a kite on the line. If no one was around/watching I would have just ‘dispatched’ it. I did remove and release it with minor damage.. a split beak.

    I little luck today. Still pretty cool here in Upstate NY and it’s hard to reach the deeper structure from the bank, but the chain pickerel at least was nice - probably close to 24”. Hate getting those things off the hook though, and he choked my chatter bait!
