It's my understanding that no oils use paraffin anymore. Penz and Quaker State did at one time but I think they stopped a long time ago, in the eighties. I remember opening up engines returned as cores and asking the owners what kind of oil they used, and the dirty, lots of build-up engines were always Pennzoil and QS... but they still had the same numbers of miles before being discarded as cores as the other oils.

If you have tow package on a six-lug Taco, the largest filters you can get without having to cut the engine cover include: Wix 51515, Purolator xxx30001, Denso 150-2066, Fram PH8a, etc… Essentially, a filter with 3/4-16 threads, 2.8” OD gasket, and 5.2” tall. Also, the filter must have a anti-drain valve. Non-tow package Tacos, I understand, use a different oil filter base; so, I’m not sure how big you can go on them.

I'm picking red grease for sportiness. Red N tacky should really do it

I got tired of draining the oil out and filtering it through an old t-shirt every 500 mi. This should last for the life of the engine

I welded the drain plug shut and just change the filter. Every 10 filters or so equals 5 qts of fresh oil

The trick is to find a filter with a anti-drain valve. Fram ftw

I don't understand the thought behind going to 6.0L with larger filter. That appears to be a 9% increase in oil volume, which I guess if you invert it, each oil molecule sees about 91.7% of the stress it would have felt with only 5.5L of oil. Assuming you change every 5k miles or so.....does that really matter? If so, how? Are y'all really out there pushing your engines to the max constantly, and needing to protect your oil molecules by reducing stress? Explain yourselves.
