Me no likey!!!

I was working storm damage after a huge windstorm one year. Had a 130’ fir that had roots exposed. You could see root ball wiggling in the breeze so I did not want to climb it to put a rope in it…first mistake haha. Cut the notch…started back cut…and she twisted like a ballerina and ended up 90 degrees off anticipated line. Fortunately it was the right 90…oops

 

Happy Saturday all....

Time to go work in the yard..... clean up the last of the leaves (I hope) and then cut the grass

Wow, that's an amazing anatomical feat...

 

Problem is it's in a small backyard and nowhere to pull. If it was in the front yard I would be done.

What about using a snatch block?

 

Or a high lift jack?

 

Good advice, but again no room to tilt the tree. And I would rent a small grinder but the rocks are in the tree. Almost took out the neighbors car windows on the one in the front

 

High lift jack might work if you put some heavy lags and length of chain?

Yes. I hired a local lumberjack that cut down 4 trees and hauled them off for $300.
A really fit guy tanned and muscled. I told him if I wasn't 60 years old I would have tried to do that. He said," I'm 60 also!".
I went back inside and opened a beer
