It's most times in an oval with 4 digits which depict week and year.

If it truly was 2011, you're long overdue.

Checking the tires for dry rot and date code are part of your pre-inspection purchase :luvya:

That's how you figure if you need to negotiate more as it'll be an added expense towards your cost of ownership.

It’d just help to have a valid safety reason to tell the missus vs me just wanting to look cool with mud tires

You've needed tires since you got that truck. Hell, the previous owner needed tires.

Also, does anyone know if these leafs are a direct bolt in, or so they need any supporting mods? It’s the s CS019R by OME image.jpg

I don’t think I have the power for that. Unfortunately replacing the knock sensors didn’t unlock all the fury from the 5VZ I was expecting. It still gets 17 mpg too.

Easy job replacing a leaf pack, especially if your bolts and shackles have been undone before based on where you live.

If not then I would highly suggest buying new hardware as you might have to cut some bolts off your shackles. Would probably help to buy new shackles as well if you're stuff is rusty.

A sawzall or reciprocating saw is handy for this.

Sounds good I’ll look up some videos. I’ll call discount tire on Monday too. The tires are priority number one.

On top of this, buy some Prothane super grease I've posted multiple times for others. It works amazingly well for those poly bushings as well as the pads between the leaf pack.

They came with the truck from the PO. I think they’re in there somewhere.

Sounds good, I'm glad you were able to get out today. What do you mean by going full taco on the engine bay? Also does it seem to leak or burn any oil?

No oil consumption or leaks. The LX was also good about not using oil. Though Maroon's engine has 70,000 more miles, the owner took it to the dealer every 6 to 7 thousand miles for service. It appears to have had an easy life with interstate miles. It has much less sludge in the oil fill tube than the LX. I'm surprised the valve covers are not leaking. I can find no evidence the originals have been replaced. Maroon just had better care through its life.

Full Taco in the engine bay. This was an incredibly relaxing project.
