What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Installed the J&L Catch Can today. Need to rework the line coming off the valve cover. It works, but it’s too long and looks shitty.

 

I love how you ran your wires for the phone mounts.
Currently I have my USB cable held down with some hot glue with it running along the outside edge of the radio bezel. Kinda ugly and I'd love to have it looking clean like yours.

Any chance do you have pics of how you did it?

 

What does an oil catch can do for ya.?

 

Reduces the amount of blow-by oil mist from the crank case, that’s routed back into the intake to be burned. Should slow down/reduce carbon build up from burnt oil on the intake runners and valve seats.

 

Thanks for the consideration. I added up the time/miles (12 hours round trip, forgot how big Georgia is), and other expenses. Don’t think it would work out. I keep seeing discount codes for RCIs and I check the website and it’s expired. Got to stay patient I guess.

 

I got my exhaust reroute done this week so I could mount my RCI skid plates with catalytic converter guards. I feel a bit better now with some measure of protection there. I also got to remind myself what a pain in the ass it is to mount skids on a non-lifted vehicle with stock tires. The kicker is that I have my lift sitting inside, waiting for me to put it on.

Other than that, I washed both the third gen Tacoma, and the third gen 4Runner. It’s been about an hour now, and they’re already covered with a fair amount of pollen and tree debris…. ‍

 

Hows that knee and shin? Looks like road rash. Anyone mentioned that yet?

 

Installed the OEM remote tailgate lock (why isn't this stock???) and a HF $5 knee saver.

 

I actually will be getting some kind of doctors note for a skin condition. I’m sure it might not be legit enough for how dark the tint is tbh.

 

You could install an accessory mount. Then you could route the wires behind the bezel to the fuse box.

 

Did the 70K oil/filter change today, and put new wiper blades on too. Hopefully the good reviews on the Bosch Icons hold true for me. Stopped by a local tire shop yesterday and got new tires ordered, hope to get them put on early-mid next week.

Thanks! It's just a anti-fatigue mat from Harbor Freight cut to size and attached with velcro. Snail Armor or similar tailgate mats are great but the cost is ridiculous!

 

Got the back and passenger front door done today.
I used Siless on the rear and part of the door.
gotta say this stuff isn't too thick.
The Amazon basics was much thicker, and tbh easier to put on.
Gonna do the rear doors and the tailgate tomorrow

I can finally add something to the thread! Picked up a used Truckvault. The bed stiffeners don’t allow the two cosmetic covers from being installed. I might end up trimming them back. Still need to get some turnbuckles to secure it. Not going to drill the bed, and I don’t have all the bolts for mounting it.

 

Yeah took an open switch blank drilled a hole in the center and put a rubber grommet to feed my wires. One cable which is to charge an iphone on my multi-mount plugs into the 12v outlet and ran up and held with these neat magnetic keepers when not in use.

The other cable which plugs into the usb goes into the glovebox where I have a wireless CarPlay module hooked up. Pretty simple setup but keeps things tidy.
