Vaccum lines shouldn't cause a no start, maybe a rough start but not a no start

 

eek that sucks. Do you have any starting fluid on hand? If not a tiny amount of brake cleaner might kick it over and get it going

 

It's a different sort of crank; I don't hear the starter It's just the initial whirl but don't feel anything else.

 

Battery checks in at 12.6v

 

Engine isn't moving when starter is activated? Did you shear off flexplate teeth?

 

give the starter some love taps and try it again

i hope it's not the flex plate teeth that suuucks.

Though you can probably turn the engine over by hand a bit to get to a section of the flex plate with more teeth.

Time to pull the starter and take a peek

 

Giving it gas started it up, stumbled and died

 

So engine is turning?

 

Now it is, running too.

What boggles me is my lines aren't leaking fluid and don't suck in air (brake lines that is) yet I can't get the bitch to bleed.

It's running now though; smell of gas poofed out the exhaust.

 

Are the brake bleeders OEM? They are probably clogged up

 

Plug your scantool in, see if the coolant temp is reasonable, when that sensor goes starting becomes a chore and everything runs dummy rich

 

I had to tap them, and clean them up a shit ton to get them loose so safe assumption they're OEM.

I should've bought new bleeder screws.

That's what the 4R did but in this case, it was only rich smelling on startup. It's idling perfect, no exhaust fume color or weird smells.

 

I have this Dorman Speed bleeder PN that works for Tacoma/4runner/pickup and is stocked by parts stores: Dorman #12709

Maybe Zane or Dan can confirm it works for LC if you need to grab em today

 

fuck, you have lots of good wisdoms. I should check mine too.

 

What's funny is I asked myself this morning if I should bother bleeding it if I don't have new bleed screws
