Not a Toyota problem. I wouldn't expect any Toyota dealership in California to close their door's with the popularity of Toyotas in the state.

The most interesting part is Ford bought the dealership and closed it. The owners probably made out ok in the sale.

I'm just wondering clousers going to be the future for more dealerships? Not so much selling the franchises back to the manufacturer, but that could be a possibility. Not only Ford dealerships but other dealerships who are struggling, or would be better off selling their business.

The original owners nor Ford think it's profitable to keep the service department open to make money onbthe back end, if that was a possibility. There are usually plenty of Ford dealers around, and I don't think Ford Motor Company wants to get in the business of servicing their own products.

Sounds like a good product to buy when even the manufacturer doesn't want to work on them. LOL!!

This happened to me back in 2008 when I was selling cars. They closed my dealership and laid off most of us. Ironically it to was a Ford store. We also sold mercury and Jeep. I really liked working there. Good people and great customers

Yep. Ford bought the franchise from the owner and he sold the Jeep franchise to a local dodge dealer. The building now is a HVAC repair place

Look up the Momentum dealerships in Fairfield. They just closed up overnight and some people were stuck with literally having to break their cars out of the dealership service bays.
