Sure looks that way with the new Tacoma coming out at end of 2023 while the Stout will be offered early 2024. If I was Ford I'd be worried but question is which will be the better buy for the money? The Tacoma or the Stout?

Flat out I'll buy the one with the best performance, best interior and smooth ride. I'm not an off-roader but won't touch Maverick because it has cheap materials and is super noisy. Santa Cruz looks really sharp but Hyundai doesn't have Toyota's solid hybrid motor history and dependability.

So it might just come down to comparing the upcoming Stout against the Tacoma and see which one is a better "quality" build.

    Let the Games Begin

Has the Stout ever been confirmed by Toyota to be produced?

I REALLY HATE Motorbiscuit, because they make most YouTube vloggers look like saints. So much misinformation and nonsensical clickbait, they're barely a nanobit above Engrish spambot blogs.

Google sucks for giving many of these spammy sites credibility and allowing those sites to intentionally mislead people.

Agreed, but some here are acting like Stout is a pipe dream. Odds are the smaller truck is coming next year due to impressive Maverick sales. Toyota might sit on there hand regarding EV, but when it comes to small trucks and hybrid motors - that's there bread and butter. We will know soon if the Stout rolls out in 2024 because if news breaks it will be around May, June, July this year.

I hope They come out with the Stout or whatever they want to call it. I'm not going to buy one I just want to stick it to Ford dealers for screwing people.

My local Toyota dealer charges $5,000 over for RAV4 Hybrids, Camry Hybrids, and TRD Pros. Ford dealers aren’t the only ones.

It sounds cool, but Motorbiscuit is as credible as Greenland is hot.

I didn't know they were also doing that. I have 0 interest in hybrids so I never looked. Again I hope nobody buys them if they are going to price gouge on them.

    Pipe dream?

I'm didn't say that, even if some others might feel that way in response to you. Like I've done at times myself on here, you might be jumping the gun a little bit, even if on the right path. Stout is not a trademark owned by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha currently and any suggestions towards it are absolute hearsay from uninformed media. It hurts the (earnest) credibility of your (credible) argument, when you link questionable source material and refer to nomenclature that hasn't been confirmed nor does any evidence suggest it to be true. I've made mistakes myself, but not in this context.

If it's based on online research, I am very prejudiced against source material that doesn't live up to being well informed. I do not trust any media on things Toyota, save for Japan and Australia (spokespeople throw them bones occasionally).

I don't want to even comment on this publicly, because my words can be twisted against me if anything isn't exactly a 1:1 match at launch. I find it interesting you say next year, yet you call that vehicle a 2024 Stout? Well, that's questionable to me, because it's not coming that soon. Toyota is developing a compact unibody, but it's not for MY 2024. I've said some stuff about it previously, but caught some differences. Prototypes have been seen testing, but don't expect spy photographers to see them anytime soon.

It is not subcompact, it is compact and it's coming. Just not how the OP has envisioned it. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

All of the Toyota dealers in South Jersey are still price gouging.I drove 732 miles south to buy mine.It is bad enough that I had to pay MSRP but no added bullshit of any kind.

Boy we got some real "know it all's here". Time to get off your horse boys and realize Stout is coming far sooner than you think. Enjoy your Humble Pie when Stout comes out next six to nine months.

Strong rumors and teasers indicate that a new Toyota Stout pickup truck could debut soon. The 2023 Stout is expected to be a compact pickup truck that could rival the popular Ford Maverick. It has the potential to seriously shake things up. And also really "shake up" this board.
