    Those corners look really tight!

One thing I am always wary of, screws in the railing caps. It's a great way to get them well secured but since you went that way would you maybe consider sealing that a bit? You could countersink and plug or just goop over the tops to reduce water intrusion and eliminate the collection point. Unless you're going to paint, but the wood looks nice as-is.

Thanks. Miters are glued & screwed. Titebond 3 with GRK trim head screws.

The top cap is 5/4 cedar decking boards. Not a lot of room for a screw to grab if toenailed from the rail underneath. I pre drilled, sprayed the hole with clear shellac and was careful not to bury the screws. That process has served me well over the years.

Edit: I usually use a 2x6 for the top cap and that can be toenailed from the bottom. But I could only find them (cedar) 8' long locally. I didn't want a seam/joint so I went with the 5/4 which I could find in 10' and 12' lengths.

And good GRK Deck screws. None of that Deckmate crap.

    Rim/Band is 2x10. Inner joists are 2x8.

Whole thing really needs to be replaced, but customer just wanted railings replaced. Posts should be 6x6. It's just as crooked as that Kitchen is.

Stair stringers are generally cut from 2x12 material.

About finished up my latest workbench, also laid out 10 feet of measurement on the top surface for rough measuring things like pipe or wire for future projects.

Ordered a few things from Lowes.com today. Used my account with my stored credit card info. Somehow I got 4 fraudulent charges in addition to the legitimate one. Bank noticed immediately and cancelled my card.

I didn't really need an outlet with USB plugs or an outdoor ceiling fan for my porch, but it sure is annoying to have to change all of my auto pay stuff over when the new card gets here.

Yes. From my home PC on a wired connection. I had my card info saved to my Lowe’s account and I just typed in the 3 digit code to confirm. It has to be an issue with their payment processing system.

So they got hacked or the orders are getting mixed up on their end?

I don't know and neither did they when I talked to them, but if they got hacked that would be a pretty big deal. Since it happened when I placed the legitimate order I suspect that it was just a mix up on their end.

Soooo it looks like I get to buy a new fridge...

    g4KDExr.jpg

So, been noticing some frost on the bottom freezer door itself. Pretty much know what it is...

    Yup...

    lSzikKQ.jpg

I could get a defrost coil, but you know what, I hate this fridge! The ice maker is not usable because it never had a filter on it, so not only does the ice taste bad, but the unit is corroded. Also noticed there's even nicotine staining on the inside of this thing! o_O

So, going with a side by side. Unfortunately I can't get one till almost the end of the month. Luckily I have the beer fridge in the basement.

Yea, and finding its replacement has proven to be tough with the dimensions I got. Looks like there's a Whirlpool that will fit and can be here within a week. Albeit $500 more than the other one I picked out, but the reviews were horrible...

    going to be fun!
Your defrost sensor or defrost timer is toast. In the fridge under the freezer there is a small round hole you can use a flat blade screwdriver and turn it slowly till it clicks. That should advance the timer into the defrost mode, if the compressor comes on keep advancing the timer till it shuts of and your in defrost mode.

Fridge has been making some odd noises for about 8 months now. Been wanting to replace it since I moved in as it's one of those stupid freezer under the fridge ones that I can't stand. I could fix it, but it's time to move on. I may keep it and fix the defrost system, or maybe not.
