The OP's decription of his usage and needs, pretty much describes the Michelin Defender LTX M/S to a T.....

The bonus is they are not too shabby off road either...

Quiet, much more than my prior KO2s that were E-rated.6071D2E1-0097-4A2E-A1D0-EC2DFF569BB7.jpg

Firestone Destination XT's or Michelin Defenders, as mentioned. OP asked for quiet tires; Nitto's and KO2'S are not quiet, and KO's are not nearly as good in the snow. Both will outperform the tires i mentioned for puncture resistance, but they are heavy and noisy. Ditched my KO's and am more than impressed with my Destination XT's. Very good in the snow.

I can highly recommend the Toyo AT3’s for your desired use. They have given me great traction in rain, are very quiet on the road and haven’t tanked my MPG at all. My only criticism would be a little bit of wandering but I think that could be the touchy steering on my truck cause it did on the stock tires a little bit too.

    Great review

    Nobody:
This guy: I'm gonna test an all terrain on only some of the terrain. lol

Sand. Mud. Different snow packs. Maybe just a bit of crawling, but nothing crazy. Would have been nice to get that data.

The braking and hydroplane characteristics were quite telling, however.

And Nitto all-terrains are trash. For the life of me I don't understand why people buy these things.

Just think this needs to be mentioned - KO2's are 3 Peak rated (look it up - believe it or not).

I had KO2s … never again for winter. Wasn’t happy with them. Once they wore out, I replaced with Kumhos that have been great in snow and ice.

To each their own, my KO2s have been pretty good with all the snow (and rain) that we get in Germany
