Quick run down because some people hate reading, was replacing both CV axles after snapping my driver side at the hub a few months ago. Couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to remove the inner CVs so I headed out to Oreillys for a slide hammer and just shredded my passenger side wheel bearing. Few hours of work later and new CVs and wheel bearings are in on both driver and passenger sides but the passenger side sounds like it has a warped rotor and the ABS and tc light won’t turn off, could it be a bad ABS sensor?

The “sounds like a warped rotor” has me puzzled.
You usually feel a warped rotor more than you hear it.

I’d start with pulling the ABS code(s) and go from there.

Yeah I can’t get any more specific than sounds like, there’s something that rubs twice every rotation but I can’t see anything touching so that’s my only assumption.

As for the codes my schools shop teacher has a real fancy obd reader that’ll figure out what’s really goin on with the abs there.

Did you happen to bend the backing plate when removing/installing the bearing?

As for the ABS, I’d take a look and see if the sensor is plugged in?
    Did you remove the sensor?

Also if you did not unplug the sensor on the steering knuckle or clip on upper control arm you may have broken the wire(s) so yes plug an ABS code reader in or go to most auto stores and they do it for free. Call and ask if they can read ABS codes first as no ABS brake reading in some cheaper code readers.

Excuse my immaturity but I’m all of 17 and learning here, how would I tell if I bent a backing plate. Is there a backing plate behind the steering knuckle? Many things I don’t know about suspension I just do the work.

The sensor was not removed when I pulled anything out but I also was never really working close enough to it at any point to really mess with it in my mind. She’ll be going on the reader tomorrow to see, couldn’t get her into the shop today unfortunately.

The backing plate is the shield behind the rotor.
The one that is between the bearing and spindle.

I’ll check tonight, I wouldn’t imagine so since the old came out super easy in a quarter million pieces and the new one slide right in no problem.

Backing plate, warped rotor, debris in there. Also those abs wires are some bullshit 36 gauge wire inside

    I’m a while late but I’ve returned

So I bought new pads, rotors, and a new abs sensor and installed them all in the few hours it takes and it’s all fixed.
The outside passenger pad had a huge gouge in it and scratched up the rotor pretty good. I did end up taking out the wheel bearing again to remove the end piece of my abs sensor that half disintegrated upon my attempt at removal but I doubt that truly changed/solved anything.
The wiring is definitely a little beat on that passenger side where the wheel bearing failed and the sensor only read 80% of the time and stops after hitting a decent pothole or sharp turns so that’s definitely up next after fixing this next new issue that’s arose.
