Well, tried this dual crown out first time yesterday at RideBhm on a few bigger hits and rock gardens. I’m impressed.
One day I hope to try a real downhill bike, now scouring pinkbike. Lol

    Weather pending Windrock next weekend.

Nice! I owned a Giant Trance X when they first released this bike back in 2020. It was such an awesome bike, loved it.

    Same here.

Still 10 ft of snow on some of our trails here. It will be a month at least before my local trail is uncovered to even see what kind of damage there is.

Just got back from the Stoopid 50 in Harrisonburg. Man that was rough. It rained almost all day, super soggy. Way more climbing than I’m used to but I finished in under 10 hours. I was hoping for 8 hours but oh well. I cramped a bit throughout which is unusual for me, I think I’ve been slacking on regular electrolytes and hydration. Definitely a learning experience, I need to focus more on training if I want to do more of these. Overall it was a great time riding some trails I haven’t ridden in years. 3F99DF7F-3CDB-49D7-86B9-650BC7E91729.jpg

the aftermath, my brakes are grinding like crazy and drivetrain is barely shifting. Plus my dropper post isn’t happy when I try to drop it, I have to push down on the tip of the saddle.

Can't even blame whoever built that covert. The soil is so sandy!

The Arrival 170 with a DC is pretty damn close... It's more capable the DH bikes of 7 years ago.

First ride on the Giant Trance X was phenomenal. I'm coming from an entry-ish XC bike, a 2017 Scott Scale 965 Hardtail to my first FS Trail bike. I can't express enough how much more playful the bike felt, despite a nearly 6lb gain in weight. I didn't get to push it too hard, as I had my boy with me, but I'd let him get just far enough in front of me to push it for a minute or two. Absolute blast despite being only on relatively flat single track. Can't wait to hit some more aggressive terrain. Maybe this weekend. We'll see.

His bike is a Haro Flightline 20. I picked it up "gently used" on FB Marketplace for $100. he had a blast on it. We rode probably 5 miles or so, which is a lot for 6 year old legs. I was a proud papa.

Sweet. They are fun bikes and they climb surprisingly well.
Get rid of the dork disk when you can - Twigs and stuff can get caught between it and the cassette and will do more harm then good; plus it'll get dirty and crack anyway and rattle, so best to remove it.

I was just Googling that, actually. I know most people remove them, but I don't know. They do serve a purpose, even if they look a bit silly. I know a properly adjusted bike shouldn't need it, but you never know....

Thanks man! It's definitely some type b fun. There were a couple times where I almost quit or switched to the shorter route but stubbornness kicked in and I finished haha.

Time to get ready for a couple Enduro races in a few weeks haha

You're quite bold with your color choices...I'm so indecisive over the tiniest of things...I've put green grips on my bike and stared at it for an hour, only to take them off...lol

The things that occupy my brain space...its ridiculous.

This is the green you’re looking for…
Comes in a few other grip styles, but the color will be money on your frame.
